A GROUP OF GENTOO PENGUINS COMING ASHORE ON PETERMAN ISLAND IN THE ANTARCTIC PENINSULAR. THEY ARE RETURNING WITH FULL CROPS AND WILL NOW TRUDGE UP THE CLIFFS TO FEED THEIR YOUNG.

Sure, the bird was interesting, but he really should have paid more attention to what was coming up behind him. Unfortunately for Willie “The Birdman” Whiters, it would be the last mistake he would ever make. I just finished this one up last night. Overall, I’m fairly pleased with it.

I love when the finches come to the feeders. First of all, they announce their coming with excited twitters and then they converge where the grub is, sometimes jockeying for the best position on the feeder by resorting to spirited and lively snapping of bills to get that position. This one was smart; she ate alone and wasn’t bothered by anyone’s claws in her plate. She looks so contented to be peacefully alone at the breakfast table.

Bloor street is a street somewhere in Canada. Keen Photography originally took this picture of which , with permission, i subtracted the fine lady and added a much finer owl. Story / Jack Ninox has wound up in Canada, and is very lost. Far from his roots he has found his way into a subway system looking for odd jobs.

A flock of Black Cockatoos flew in to have breakfast in the front yard. I grabbed the camera, no time for a tripod, and shot away. Luckily they didn’t fly off I must have looked funny with just my pj shorts on.

Pic 11 I just took this. (about 6pm here, on Friday) It is currently 105º here…. I sure hope these chicks survive this heat. At least the parents are still tending to the food. I watched the chick take the worm, then go down in to the nest. just when I thought my hummers were no longer visiting my yard, this young one came for a long visit. He even let me get pretty close to him, without flying away.
