this gang of Adelie penguins gave me a great opportunity for quite a series of entertaining photographs as they zoomed busily about their icy playground. This photo has become a symbol of connection and friendship among my own personal group of nearest and dearest friends.
Scratch, our Siamese, photographed with what would on a normal day be his dinner. Birds were shot at a local pet store and added in Photoshop. As the birds were photoraphed in cages, the bars they were behind had to be cloned out, and this took a lot of time and patience. Addition of shadows and direction of lighting effects were important factors to getting the image to look realistic. 5169 views… 9 November 2009
Met these two chaps on a dreadfully cold day in the Cotswolds on my last trip to England. No idea on the species but they sure do look a pair of characters. UPDATE: Finally got around to discovering the origin of these funny fellows. Seems they are used to warmer weather ...... Brazillian weather in fact. This is the Guira Cuckoo. One of the most common birds found in Bazil. They usually look much smoother than this so I can only assume that I caught this likely looking pair when they were puffed up against the cold. regards, Graham
A concept I would love to re-paint some day : } Thank you for viewing~ / Flyk© Sara Wilson
A boy and a bird, both singing their song to each other. I have tried this, whistling back to the birds I hear, but they never respond. =P Just a simple little thing I did, kind of a different style but I like it. Was fun to do. =D / Used sepia ink for the characters and border, then added a texture and the music notes in the background with Photoshop. Hope you like it! =3
Also available in a coloured version for those who prefer their birds green:
The illustration was so popular with you guys I thought I may as well upload it as a T design too..enjoy :D
My origami calendar I folded the mother duck out of trace paper around the time I saw ducklings on the way to work; can read about that here. I can’t remember how big the paper was; I believe 13×13mm. The two little ducklings in the centre were folded from 6×6mm pieces of trace paper while the little one at the back was folded from a 5×5mm piece of trace paper. I know mother duck is just behind the 4cm mark, but the duckling at the back is infront of the 1cm mark, hence the duck family is a 3cm spread ^ _ ^ New version added August 21, 2008 / Looks great on a card!
