A slow way to rid the country of the dreaded cane toad.
Crow/Raven, flew to the sun to bring back fire to the First People. Crow was white before he made this journey, but he caught fire and fell to earth, and thus Crow has been black ever since. All journeys change us…sometimes the change is external like Crows, but for the most part it is the hidden places that shift.
A northwestern crow (Corvus caurinus), in a quest for food, patrols large boulders along a creek bottom. A small parliament of these corvids occupied the trees along the creek, probably hoping that some picnickers would leave a few scraps behind. Lynn Canyon, BC, 07 Aug 2009.
