/ This is a photo I had taken a couple of months ago…. Titled “Majestic” . I have such a passion for birds that are unusual and wonderfu just like the White Crested Turaco here is…..... and the King Vulturel!! ......... I’ve applied the Orton Layered Effect to this photo / / Info on the White Crested Turaco: / This was a White Crested Turaco. He was so friendly and his coloring was just beautiful. The turacos and plantain eaters are brightly coloured birds, usually blue, green or purple. The green color comes from turacoverdin, the only true green pigment in birds. (Other “greens” in bird colors result from a yellow pigment such as lypochrome combined with the prismatic blue physical structure of the feather itself.) Their wings contain a red pigment turacin. Both pigments are unique to this group. The Go-away-birds are mainly grey and white.

Pastel on Canson. / Part of a series of Fantasy Birds. / Cosmic Crested Tinkle Bird is found near or on Bluebell Trees. These trees make very low tinkling sounds that harmonise with nature itself. / The CCTB, keeps the balance between them with a special low whistle wich imitates the tree, and thus allows the flowering bluebells to blossom, amongst the most beautiful rythm of nature. / The sound of the tree helps keep us full of love and harmony. / Sometimes when you are not aware and you get that warm lovin feelin it is just possable that one of these Cosmic crested Tinkle Birds have just flown over you. The Rainbow Poole Bird is a very close relative to the CCTB,Which only goes to show that birds of a feather do flock together,:):):)

A crested lark in early morning sunlight in the dune area of the United Arab Emirates. These guys are native, and very hardy surviving in the harsh desert environment and they have a wonderful light song. This male was too preoccupied with competitors to pay much attention to me (that is why his crest is up)

The time of day, the season of the year, the prevailing weather conditions all affect the existing light when I photograph birds in my yard. On this particular occasion, there was a golden glow which I really liked as the backdrop for this brilliant male cardinal so handsome in his suit of vermilion feathers.

We are experiencing a heatwave in Adelaide at the moment & these Sulpher Crested Cockatoos came down into our Ash tree to grab some shade. They were down lower than they normally come, in their effort to escape the heat and their beaks were open as they were so hot. They were also giving me a very curious stare!
