I can’t take any credit whatsoever for this pic as it belongs to a wee friend … I think he captured the wing walker just at the right moment. Clever cropping of image to reveal ‘no skin’ written on wings … I think it would take a lot of skin (courage) to do this line of work !!!!! :-)

Definitely a multi-media job: Woodblock inked up in red then reinked in black. / Printed biplane with large stencil. / Finally touched up in photoshop. 53 X 37cm Hahnemulle paper

And you wonder why there are not more accidents at airshows!!! Maybe the picture is deceiving, but from where I was taking this shot, this looked a little too close for comfort ….. Pretty cool action stopped down to a split second. HDR Images / Prague Images / Aviation Related Images

Biplane ready to take off at the 2008 Airpower Over Hampton Roads airshow. The pilot activated the “smoke pod”, which drowned out the background quite nicely.
-

Shot this one in the Museum at RAF Cosford, It’s a Biplane from WW1 and haven’t the first idea what type, Went along to an Airshow there the other week with some lads from work, thoroughly enjoyed myself, got some cracking shots too.. / Done a little PS work on this if you didn’t notice.. /

Shot at HMAS Albatross, Nowra, NSW

This Naval Aircraft Factory N3N-3 is seen about to touch down at the 11th Great Vitage Flying Weekend at Hullavington, England. / A rare beast (the only one on the UK register) was used by the US Navy as a trainer and was painted bright yellow, giving it the nickname “Yellow peril”. / This one was built in 1942 and is based on the Isle of Wight. / I thought I would give the image a suitably “retro” feel….

Now for another shot of my other passion. This is my newly finished model of a Fokker DVII in 1/32. It’s a set from a French company called “Battle Axe” and modellers will know of all the hardships I’ve been through. / Never mind, I finished it and furthermore had the luck to have a nice, warm setting sun at disposal when my back garden had to do for an aerodrome somewhere in France, 1918. The machine is an early Fokker (parent company) built version in the livery of Hauptm. Rudolf Bertold, Jasta 15.
