This is a serendipitous creation…. a rich sunset, a piece of ‘junk’ metal, ...and one of my favourite photos :)

In this composite, I have tried to portray the ‘essence’ of the pelican..the wonderful contrast of a hunter’s bill, with the softness of the feathers… the amazing colour to be found on looking closer, and the overall beauty of a bird who is often shown in a comical way :) I did this some time ago.. and still enjoy dragging it up and looking at it ;)

“Only upload work you are proud of….” ...well, I am proud of it, if only for the fact that I had the patience to spend hours creating it, and learnt a lot along the way :) Now I see things which I should have done better…however.. .. It is a couple of photos-one of a sky, one out of which I cut the sun… then a lot of messing around ! :P The sky background is part of a photo taken by bushdrover (who happens to be my brother) ;) LEARNING!!

a collaboration between bushdrover (the photograph) and me ..(the photoshopping bits) Our grandfather and his brother served in WW1 as lighthorsemen and camel corps soldiers. information here / on ANZAC DAY :) Bushdrover has also written this poem for ANZAC Day …....He feels very strongly about the role of the horse in war. :)

An infrequent occurrence here..a substantial fall of rain… I appreciate it in all its forms…especially when combined with my favourite bloom..the rose. (even if it is dead ) :)

This bromeliad (Aechmea fasciata ) has these gorgeous flower bracts which are obvious now. I was lucky with this one…a ray of sun was hitting the flower,so I only had to increase the shade around it a touch :)
