  • Watercolor , ink and pastel on Canton Paper Finally, I have finished my drawing of Nikki, and I have to say I am wrapt. I hope Nikki is also. / Now for those who don’t know my technique, first I design the composition on photoshop using my models, or muses who send me their faces. Then after that I sketch up the drawing onto a large scale A1 or larger piece of paper. Tape it to the easel and away I go. First it starts with graphite, then ink, then watercolour, then pastels, then conte and a touch of pastel here and there and VOILA! I might enter this in a competition which I have been invited to go into in Fitzroy, not sure if to enter this one or other Lady in Landscape. Please let me know what you think of this drawing in comparison to my digital mock up…some say why do a drawing at all when the digital is just as good. But I hope I have added some artistic freedom to the piece and its not exactly the same. If you would like to be a muse let me know. Thanks for looking . Billy FINISHED DRAWING – date 12.4.08 / Going to enter this works in the Works on Paper Mornington REgional Gallery this year

  • A1 Canton Paper, ink, pastel, charcoal and conte. Arletta from the Pay It Forward Group: ““First of all, I love the colors; second of all, I love what the turbulence in the hair represents – the emotional content of the piece. And, I don’t know, it’s beautiful. I’m not an art critic! But, to me, this piece is so full of frenetic energy and the want hiding behind it.” This is a colloboration with Amy, I will post her picture she did of herself here….. Amy This is my muse “Amy”, today I did this drawing of her…I completed it in one day..it is Charcoal and Pastel….I will download the picture of me in the studio today, even though I look horrible…so you can see me at work. • This is my “Supreme” 2008 Aquatint Etching! Well, it is a copper plate etching, which has been aquatinted over and over and over again, until at last, its love finally! This is my daughter, she is sleeping and dreaming…her soul is at peace as she falls into a deep sleep. This is my third copper plate aquatint etching for the year….they are all 30×30 plates on A2 cream University paper. This one is my favorite though. I have printed up 10 of this edition, and can’t wait to print up some more. I am absolutely wrapped in this one. I hope you like it to, if you have any questions about etching or aqautinting please ask me, I would sleep in the print room and breath in the ink and ferric acid every day if I could! But we all have to go home and shower some times! *BIG THANK YOU to my printmaking teacher at Chisholm Frankston…Heather Nye * Please see my new work Forest Dreams I just added to port folio Amy’s Travel’s BillyLee / Billy Nye / Belinda Nye

  • Pastel on Canton Paper.Size A0 Pastel drawing and yes, its another woman in a landscape, except this one is a Seascape. This is all Pastel...my new medium for the week. This is NO.1 drawing for Semester 2 at art school. Only another five to go so I’m on my way. I am finding it difficult to try anything new at the moment. Its challenging to say the least. I will probably improve this drawing once its up on the net and I can see it from a distance and I will add some more highlights and lowlights. At the moment I wanted to upload it to my friends as I haven’t uploaded anything in wow, a week or two. This is STAGE ONE of “Hurricane Woman”.
