  • Bill couldn’t get any emergency accommodation because no one would let him keep Ted, so they chose to live together under the bridge. Nikon F5. 400 Tmax pushed 800

  • This was inspired a while ago by the satirist and comedian Bill Hicks, who was, in my humble opinion, a genius, if a little perverted. / He’s dead. At 36. From pancreatic cancer. But I think he was assassinated by the FBI because it makes a better story. Anyway, he was most prolific during the first Gulf War, and he had a sketch where he talked about the incredible accuracy of smart bombs to knock the fillings out of the teeth of the enemy, and he wondered how they couldn’t use the same technology to shoot food at hungry people. /

  • This is a “pencil” of William F. Cody in his later years. This piece was drawn using a very obscure photograph for reference that Karchner obtained from an anonymous source in Washington, D.C. This “pencil” is soon to be archived in the Buffalo Bill Historical Centers private library. For a library of 250,000 photos, the BBHC was shocked they had never seen this portrait of Cody. What a find on Karchners’ part! • Computers are pretty much part of our lives now but I remember the horror of the first Win 95 window pop up and seeing FATAL ERROR. ...I totally freaked and was ready to take the computer back to the department store for a refund…before a friend gently and laughingly explained what was going on…....but I never got over that “in your face” feeling of Fatal Error and Fatal Exception. / ..I mean why Fatal ….., that’s so fatal, why not some cute character like me popping up saying, “Don’t Stress Darlink, but we have to close for a bit” And what about “Illegal Operation”...I swear the first time it happened I thought the stormtroopers were going to break down the front door! I really think Bill and his team could have put a little more thought into the trauma windows 95 could cause before inflicting it on the public. / Available as a card, print and poster. / Image copyright © 2008 Shanina Conway. / Copying and displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited /

  • Oil on Canvas board, approx 90 hours work. P51 Mustang “Miss Steve” flown by Bill Cullerton. This was my second commission and now hangs in the American War Cemetery in East Anglia. Bill became an ace and was based at Steeple Morden in Cambridgeshire, England. In Bill’s book, he describes in detail the moment he was shot down, shott by an SS officer at point blank range and left for dead. He regained conciousness hours later and was eventually rescued by locals who took him a nearby hospital (german occupied of course) from where he later escaped and returned to England. The sight of the tower was a Life saving beacon for Cullerton, for when he saw the tower of the church in the distance he knew he was almost home . The feeling of surviving another mission and coming back home was overwhelming. On the Launch day of the painting I was invited to the Church where the painting would be shown to Bill for the first time. It was strange to think that I was sat there in the church with Bill, the painting which depicted the church and the plane, his wife (after which the plane was named) and ground crew who were also stationed at Steeple morden. Only a handful of people were in that church, local TV had also attended to capture the event. Bill retold the his war time stories infront of everyone , the occassion was a very moving and sincere affair, of which I was most grateful to be part of. Thanks must got to my family for their support during painting this piece and artist such as Michael Turner who’s work i have enjoyed since a child. 1543 views

  • HERALD SUN/23rd Feb/’09 Did it take 6 SIX days for investigators to tell Dale and Elke that their daughter was missing…......Wasted time…...precious evidence lost/added suffering! / Yes/there was a delay in Dubrovnik…...the delay in Dubrovnik most concerning. Yes/also a delay with the Australian Government agencies…...so it is said! The parents of Britt Lapthorne want changes to privacy laws . Senator Fielding wants to change this…..... BRITT’S BILL would change the legislation and make it possible for families to be contacted as soon as a loved one vanishes overseas. PLEASE go to the PETITION online and help make this legislation take place www.stevefielding.com.au www.stevefielding.com.au www.stevefielding.com.au www.stevefielding.com.au www.stevefielding.com.au www.stevefielding.com.au www.stevefielding.com.au www.stevefielding.com.au www.stevefielding.com.au www.stevefielding.com.au For those who live outside Australia you maybe interested to know that BRITT LAPTHORNE/ 21-year-old Melbourne woman went missing from a nightclub in the Croatian town of Dubrovnik on September 18. Her body was found many days later washed up near rocks not far from the city centre./’08 **HERALD SUN 25th feb/’09 The latest news here in Australia this morning is that the parents of BRITT LAPTHORNE have been told they are NOT to investigate/dive in DUBROVNIK/CROATIA….... It is still a crIme scene! The ocean is a crime scene. These parents only want answers. Is this not a parent’s RIGHT!! They will not rest until they have answers! Only answers will bring peace of mind and help others to avoid such REDTAPE in the future. If the waters of DUBROVNIK are too cold maybe they could spend the time chatting casually to the wonderful locals. Less expensive and probably more informative and their english very good!
