  • In my search for Sydney letterboxes ,) I come across moments and opportunities. So, I am beginning a collection of some of these inner City Sydney moments: ‘Blink and You’ll Miss It’ - This image was recently used by DannyNolan in his journal entry EPIC / It’s a great read so check it out. / - Although this might look like a feral inner city cat, he was simply yawning after dozing on a possibly warm motorcycle engine on the first sunny and dry day in Sydney in what seemed like weeks. The other shots I took are friendly and sleepy…but this was a killer. Thanks to MBartworks for the cool title.

  • Once had a seriously long Italian love affair with my Ducati Sport years ago, until my brother-in-law wrote it off! / But…my son-in-law rides one and invited me to play with an idea he had one day. If it’s red and Italian, it’s got to be good!

  • Matchless is one of the oldest marques of British motorcycles with the first models manufactured at the start of the 20th century. Produced in Plumstead, London from 1899 to 1966, a wide range of models were produced under the Matchless name ranging from small two-strokes to 750 cc four-stroke twins. Matchless had a long history of racing success and a Matchless ridden by Charlie Collier won the first single cylinder race in the first Isle of Man TT in 1907.[1] In 1938 both Matchless and AJS became part of Associated Motorcycles (AMC), both companies producing models under their own marques. During the amalgamations that occurred in the British motorcycle industry in the 1960s, the Matchless four-stroke twin was replaced with the Norton twin ending a long history of independent production. By 1967, the Matchless singles had ceased production / “Wikipedia” / “http://images-3.redbubble.net/img/art/framecolor:charcoal/framestyle:flat30/mattecolor:bright%20white/product:framed-print/size:medium/view:preview/3613201-2-classic-motor-bikes.jpg!

  • This is the matchless Bike, that lost the contract to supply the mod bikes during the War the contract went to AJS & this caused problems that saw the demise of the Matchless name. /

  • I’d never been to a bike meeting before today, and I know little about specific models etc, but I like most things with an engine…especially if they have some history, so if I have this wrong, I’d be happy to be corrected. This (I believe) is a 500cc Manx Norton circa 1954 still doing what it was built for – racing! This is my first attempt at photographing bike racing, so just getting some half-decent shots was my intention today – I think I’ve bagged a few worth uploading, so here’s the first! Nikon D80. Sigma 70-300mm APO. 1/500th f/10 ISO 1250
