It took a week or so to finally view this video… my sister both forgot the tape.. Well I got to watch the home video of my older Brother 6 months before he died July of 1991. It was Christmas of 1990.. and he was home on leave from the USAF. / I forgot the sound of voice.. his laughter… only his memory stayed intact in my heart…I was not prepared for this viewing whatsoever! / But , like everything in my life I jumped in head first determine to accept what was going to happen..no worries…no regrets. It began… and there he was… he introduced himself and tagged on a B-S line …like he always did.. there he was in his 1990 glory..( bad hair, bad clothes), he was just 19 and just got his license and he so proud of it he passed it around for all to see… / The minute he started to talk… I instantly felt as if we was in the room with us. He was such a GOOF BALL! He made everything into a joke…he made fun of all his sisters.. he had 6 and only one brother. / Just to see him…alive in a way.. again.. listening to him laugh..joke around. / I thought I’d be sad… and it was sad, don’t get me wrong but,it made me LAUGH more than anything else. / I am grateful for this. Now I don’t think I forgot or want to forget what his voice sounded like.. I have a photographic memory and I was unware that I memorized this home movie.. until a few days had past.. I kept replaying what he said in the video and I found myself laughing and tearing up in these last few days. One thing that keeps ending my dreams… since hearing his voice..is remembering what he used to always say to me when I would see him… (high pitched 19 year old voice) Hey! girl… come give your big brother a hug. -Like my other brother always said…on the day we found out of his passing… he pointed to my heart and said tearfully… there… Mari … there is where he will always stay… Love you Bro! - your little sister.. / mari.
