It’s not everyday you get to see a species known for its ferocity, showing tenderness instead. These are two Lion brothers (captivity) who had spent most of the morning playfully teasing each other before they sat down to…well….no other word for it – “cuddle”. This was the only shot I got that worked as they were partially obscured by a toy in their enclosure. On review I was very lucky, not only was there a beautiful symmetry in the lions’ head positions, but both eyes were closed in the ‘moment’ as well. The image has been edited for a more dramatic effect and to perfectly isolate the two animals and their experience. Here is a photo of my youngest two. My little girl was cold at the beach so her bigger brother gave her cuddles to keep her warm and I was there to catch it.
After hiking along the Caribbean Coast in Cahuita Costa Rica I found the perfect palms, the kind I had been dreaming of since I arrived in Costa Rica. I had set up for this shot long before I arrived and I was not leaving with out it… As you can see, I got my shot!! / Enjoy!!!!

This was a great find! Two different species of fungus growing snugly side by side at the bottom of a moss covered fallen log. The little trio are Mycena leaiana and their big brother is a Suillus granulatus, both species being native Aussie fungi . The photograph was made in an old pine plantation in off the Maxwell Flat Road in the Cottan-Bimbang# National Park , between Gingers Creek and Wauchope , NSW, Australia, early on an autumn day. I was on a day trip with a Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club friend who knows the area well and we both spent a good four hours in this plantation photographing the many different varieties of fungi that were on show in some wonderful forest light. #Cottan-Bimbang is the local Aboriginal name for the Linospadix monostachya (Walking Stick Palms) which are very prominent in the area Fuji S9600: RAW, Macro, Manual Priority, Manual focus, f/8 @ 0.77sec, ISO80, Tripod, Timer, Low powered flash. / S7RAW & Photoshop CS. This is a picture of my oldest and youngest child. We were in the yard one day and they were playing with coconuts. I love candid shots, so I was in the distance snapping pictures. Out of the blue, he bent down and kissed her on the head. It was the cutest thing and such a rare occurance now that he has reached that pre-teen stage in life. Featured on homepage. WILD AND FREE / / Two cheetah cub brothers sitting on a termite mound. Taken early one morning about half an hour after sunrise. (Masai Mara – Kenya) / / The world’s fastest land animal, the cheetah, is a unique and the most specialized member of the cat family and can reach speeds of 70 mph. Unlike other cats, the cheetah has a leaner body, longer legs, and has been referred to as the greyhound of the cats. It is not an aggressive animal, using flight versus fight. With its weak jaws and small teeth, the price it paid for speed, it cannot fight larger predators to protect its kill or young. The cheetah was once a common animal found on five continents, but is slowly losing its race for survival and is now classed as an Endangered Species! Oil on Canvas size 75×55cm. These boys, belonging to the Surma Tribe, live in a remote village in south eastern Ethiopia. The tribe is famous for their ferocious stick fighting resulting in many scars! Charcoal drawing on news paper. Inspired by the way the media manipulates us! I hate the way the media tells us what they think we should hear rather than letting us work it out for ourselves. Not my usual subject matter. The inspiration for “Big Brother is Plugged In” came to me during a trip to a suburban area in Texas. I was surprised at the number of cameras. At least one on every street corner! Scary! / The outer eye is actually a fractal created in Apophysis 2.08. The Eye was created in Poser 6, the Sky and Ground created in Vue 7 esprit.
