  • This is a picture of my oldest and youngest child. We were in the yard one day and they were playing with coconuts. I love candid shots, so I was in the distance snapping pictures. Out of the blue, he bent down and kissed her on the head. It was the cutest thing and such a rare occurance now that he has reached that pre-teen stage in life. • Cheetah Brothers
    by Steve Bulford

    US$4.28–US$35.62

WILD AND FREE / / Two cheetah cub brothers sitting on a termite mound. Taken early one morning about half an hour after sunrise. (Masai Mara – Kenya) / / The world’s fastest land animal, the cheetah, is a unique and the most specialized member of the cat family and can reach speeds of 70 mph. Unlike other cats, the cheetah has a leaner body, longer legs, and has been referred to as the greyhound of the cats. It is not an aggressive animal, using flight versus fight. With its weak jaws and small teeth, the price it paid for speed, it cannot fight larger predators to protect its kill or young. The cheetah was once a common animal found on five continents, but is slowly losing its race for survival and is now classed as an Endangered Species! • Big Brother
    by Dennis Gay IPA

    US$7.98–US$212.80

This was a great find! Two different species of fungus growing snugly side by side at the bottom of a moss covered fallen log. The little trio are Mycena leaiana and their big brother is a Suillus granulatus, both species being native Aussie fungi. The photograph was made in an old pine plantation in off the Maxwell Flat Road in the Cottan-Bimbang# National Park, between Gingers Creek and Wauchope, NSW, Australia, early on an autumn day. I was on a day trip with a camera club friend who knows the area well and we both spent a good four hours in this plantation photographing the many different varieties of fungi that were on show in some wonderful forest light. #Cottan-Bimbang is the local Aboriginal name for the Linospadix monostachya (Walking Stick Palms) which are very prominent in the area Camera: Fuji S9600; RAW; Macro Mode; Manual Priority; Manual Focus; f/8; 0.77sec; 25mm; WB Daylight; ISO 80; Spot Metering; Centre Focussing; Tripod mounted; Low powered Flash. / Processing: S7RAW & Photoshop CS. UPDATE: / These fine fungi have been awarded Photo of the Day for Friday 25th April 2008 on the Shutterbug site. Enjoy! FUNGI: COTTAN-BIMBANG / (Click the links!)
