  • This darling red bike was found in one of the few remaining galleries in Paris. It was just a charming shot that I had to take.

  • Such a sunny day, seems a shame to spend it traveling on the Imperial transports.

  • Big and bold! Be seen as the peloton passes.

  • Mmmmmmm, salt….. / Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni – one of the more surreal cycling experiences. There’s about 5000 square kilometers of this stuff. The only regret I have about this trip was that I didn’t try to ride clean across it – a two day effort by all accounts. Maybe next time.

  • recycle / ride a bike whenever you can; and please recycle wastes / / /

  • This is a design for all the cyclists out there, from the fixie riders to the weekend riders to the daily commuters!

  • This is my entry for the London Calling competition which everyone should get into. The main image is an early warning system used in London. A man in a gasmask with an alarm hooked up to loudspeaker attached to his bike would ride through the streets sounding the alarm. He also had a microphone inside the mask. / The background images are selected archive photos from the blitz. The tube map over the top is from 1938.

  • We found a pink girly bike on the side of that road on the way to this shoot so naturally it was added to the already huge pile of random stuff in the boot. I jumped in the pool with these crazy musicians and kept handing them props and directing them to complete various acts of underwater stupidity. James managed to stay dry by offering to operate the camera through a viewing window. I also shot some film with an underwater camera but I’ve been really slack and haven’t developed it yet. If I’m lucky, being in the hot car for this long will have screwed it up a bit and I’ll get magical surprises when I finally make some prints. models: Jase and Tom www.joobrien.com

  • This was in protest of the death of a cyclist on Montreal street who was hit by a motorist. / It was incredible. Rue Ste. Catherine was shut down in the late afternoon on a Saturday. Closed the city for ten minutes. / It was beautiful. / I would say that it made a lot of Montreal motorists angry, but that would mean the protesters really had no effect. Best Viewed Full Size I discovered this wonderful antique bike at the Juniata Crossing Mercantile on Route 30, near Breezewood PA on May 10, 2009, and couldn’t resist the image. Used the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens, cp filter was probably still on. Post processing included a trip to Photoshop for removal of distractions, then to Photomatix for hdr (hand held camera, single image +/-2), then back to Photoshop for a light Orton and other final tweaking.
