Taken from my blog: I was going through some paintings in my studio and stumbled upon this one that I had done some time ago. I had initially put it aside calling it a “WIP” and had fully intended to go back and do more work on it but never did. I’d shown it as a WIP to some arteeeest friends who had liked it very much “as is” and then just rolled it up and forgot about it. It’s huge…not exactly sure off hand how large but it’s on unstretched canvas….I’d say about 4ft X 5ft. What this piece represents is (and I remember painting it during one of those dry spiritual periods when I was trying desperately to pray but just couldn’t find the words) our prayers, which are sometimes nothing more than moans and groans….but are interpreted for us by the Holy Spirit giving us a direct and uninterrupted line to our Father. This happens often during our times of spiritual emptiness when we are reaching out to God and the words just don’t come. For those of you who are Christians, you will know this scripture from the Bible: Romans 8:26 (New International Version) “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Anyway, when I pulled the painting out this morning, I decided that just as Jesus said on the cross, “it is finished”.....and would like to share it with you all. Never stop talking to God, He always hears….even the moans and groans! Be Blessed. /

The saying “red sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning. Red sky at night, shepherd’s delight” was very true and evident this particular day, at Staughton Vale, near Geelong. / The same warning was also spoken of by Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, in the Bible, centuries ago. Matthew 16:1-3 The Pharisees and Sadducees Seek a Sign 1 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! This is my favorite photo. My son was in his room going though his things and brought out his (old) new testiment Bible. I noticed he had been folding some of the pages and thought that it would be need to see if I could make a heart with it. He then spoted the flowers I was photographing and started the “she loves me she loves me not” pedal pulling game and a few landed on the pages. I love the effect. I hope you all like it as much as I do. I also feel that this has a double meaning. Often I veer off the path laid before me and take my own direction…I’m human, that’s just what we do….but it is comforting to know that God is with us always, never leaving nor forsaking us…quietly speaking to our hearts and guiding us back to Him as we go through this journey. Lillith is said to be the primal first woman, created prior to Eve, as Adams first wife in some of the Judeo-Christian versions. She refused to lie beneath Adam and claimed herself and her sexuality as sovereign, finding pleasure with nature spirits in the desert. She is said to have returned, recorded as the ‘snake’, to give Eve the apple. Some say she represents the base chakra and guards the bottom of the Tree of Life to challenge you to face your fears and ego before seeking higher truths. I see her as inviting, almost daring, us to be literally shame-less in our bodies and fearless in our integrity. Goddess to Pagan traditions and a Demon to others – Lillith is a powerful feminine associated with wild, untamable nature, from storms to sexual dreams.
