1915 creative works found

  • Taken from my blog: I was going through some paintings in my studio and stumbled upon this one that I had done some time ago. I had initially put it aside calling it a “WIP” and had fully intended to go back and do more work on it but never did. I’d shown it as a WIP to some arteeeest friends who had liked it very much “as is” and then just rolled it up and forgot about it. It’s huge…not exactly sure off hand how large but it’s on unstretched canvas….I’d say about 4ft X 5ft. What this piece represents is (and I remember painting it during one of those dry spiritual periods when I was trying desperately to pray but just couldn’t find the words) our prayers, which are sometimes nothing more than moans and groans….but are interpreted for us by the Holy Spirit giving us a direct and uninterrupted line to our Father. This happens often during our times of spiritual emptiness when we are reaching out to God and the words just don’t come. For those of you who are Christians, you will know this scripture from the Bible: Romans 8:26 (New International Version) “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Anyway, when I pulled the painting out this morning, I decided that just as Jesus said on the cross, “it is finished”.....and would like to share it with you all. Never stop talking to God, He always hears….even the moans and groans! Be Blessed. /

  • This is my entry for the Photoshop Creative competition / Digital Mixed Media. Mostly done in Photoshop CS2. A touch of Corel Painter and Apophysis 2.0. This image is composed of digital painting, a few fractals, and several photographs added for texture. I hope you all like it because I’ve been working on it for most of this week :). / This is the first I’ve completed in a new series: The Elijah Series. This image represents the chariot of fire. You can read about it here: 2 Kings 2:7-12. There is so much going on in this image so I’ll help you out: The Chariot driven by some sort of Angelic being is in the center of the image while the horses of fire are at the bottom, very front of the image. The blazing light of Heaven is in the very back. Basically, the sky has opened up and the Chariot of Fire is coming down from Heaven to separate Elisha and Elijah. The whirlwind that takes Elijah up into Heaven will be the next image I do in this series. Thank you for looking!

  • “Where There is Light, There Must Also Be Darkness”, “Every man has a good and bad angel attending on him, all his life long.” – Robert Burton (“Anatomy of Melancholy”) “Man is his own star, and the soul that can, render an honest and a perfect man,Commands all light, all influence, all fate: nothing to him falls early or too late. Our acts are angels are, for good or ill: our fatal shadows that walk by us still.” – John Fletcher (“Upon An Honest Man’s Fortune”) “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” – Bible: 2 Corinthians (11:13-15)

  • This is my favorite photo. My son was in his room going though his things and brought out his (old) new testiment Bible. I noticed he had been folding some of the pages and thought that it would be need to see if I could make a heart with it. He then spoted the flowers I was photographing and started the “she loves me she loves me not” pedal pulling game and a few landed on the pages. I love the effect. I hope you all like it as much as I do. I also feel that this has a double meaning. The Bible was written with love and to be able to depict that with a photograph of a heart with the Bible is just awe inspiring to me. starting 2/28/09 all proceeds will be donated to American Cancer society. / / Sold as card 9/7/08 / Sold as card 10/20/08 / Sold as card 01/12/09 / Sold as card 2/13/09 / Sold as laminate print 2/15/09 unknown buyer taken with Nikon D80 18-55mm Macro lense 55mm length f/5 iso 100 1/60 Featured on homepage art 9/07/08 / A glimps of this photo can be see on the Australian Morning New’s here they start talking about redbubble at the 5 min mark and my photo can be seen at 6:47 mark lower left of the screen in the corner. • Watercolor, ink, paper “Awake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow on my garden, that its fragrance may spread abroad. Let my lover come into his garden and taste its choice fruits.” / (Songs 4:16) It is difficult for the Soul to lose the height of comfort reached, even though all her sacrifices are like tiny beads slipping through her fingers in comparison with the divine reward of His love. The good works the Soul does for Him are not what delights God, but her herself when she remains in Him. The Bride answers to her Beloved: “Whatever wind is blowing: dry north, burning my garden, or gentle south breeze, whatever hardships enter my life, I say – Come, my Beloved, the garden belongs to You only. I will follow You wherever You call me. Let my life be like a table generously laid for You and Your friends.”

  • Acrylic on canvas. For anyone who is struggling today as I am…God, help us to persevere. This is my prayer today. Hebrews 10:35-39 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, “He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. Hebrews Chapter 10
