Taken from my blog: I was going through some paintings in my studio and stumbled upon this one that I had done some time ago. I had initially put it aside calling it a “WIP” and had fully intended to go back and do more work on it but never did. I’d shown it as a WIP to some arteeeest friends who had liked it very much “as is” and then just rolled it up and forgot about it. It’s huge…not exactly sure off hand how large but it’s on unstretched canvas….I’d say about 4ft X 5ft. What this piece represents is (and I remember painting it during one of those dry spiritual periods when I was trying desperately to pray but just couldn’t find the words) our prayers, which are sometimes nothing more than moans and groans….but are interpreted for us by the Holy Spirit giving us a direct and uninterrupted line to our Father. This happens often during our times of spiritual emptiness when we are reaching out to God and the words just don’t come. For those of you who are Christians, you will know this scripture from the Bible: Romans 8:26 (New International Version) “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Anyway, when I pulled the painting out this morning, I decided that just as Jesus said on the cross, “it is finished”.....and would like to share it with you all. Never stop talking to God, He always hears….even the moans and groans! Be Blessed. /

So the body of a man is the husk which perishes; but the soul, the spiritual embryo, starts into new life of precisely the same nature as it has before. As sure as the sun rises each morning, so it is with God’s Great Faithfulness to watch over, protect and provide for each of us, His children. The dawning of a perfect Autumn day as the sun creeps up through the mist that has settled over Thompson’s Creek, on the historic Charlemont sheep station. Lamentations 3:22-24 (New International Version) / New International Version (NIV) 22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, / for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; / great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; / therefore I will wait for him. The words to the wonderful old hymn penned back in 1923, still stand testament today! Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; / There is no shadow of turning with Thee; / Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; / As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be. Refrain Great is Thy faithfulness! / Great is Thy faithfulness! / Morning by morning new mercies I see. / All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; / Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, / Sun, moon and stars in their courses above / Join with all nature in manifold witness / To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Refrain Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth / Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; / Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, / Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! This is my entry for the Photoshop Creative competition / Digital Mixed Media. Mostly done in Photoshop CS2. A touch of Corel Painter and Apophysis 2.0. This image is composed of digital painting, a few fractals, and several photographs added for texture. I hope you all like it because I’ve been working on it for most of this week :). / This is the first I’ve completed in a new series: The Elijah Series. This image represents the chariot of fire. You can read about it here: 2 Kings 2:7-12. There is so much going on in this image so I’ll help you out: The Chariot driven by some sort of Angelic being is in the center of the image while the horses of fire are at the bottom, very front of the image. The blazing light of Heaven is in the very back. Basically, the sky has opened up and the Chariot of Fire is coming down from Heaven to separate Elisha and Elijah. The whirlwind that takes Elijah up into Heaven will be the next image I do in this series. Thank you for looking!

Isa 40:8: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. / ______ The natural distribution range of the genus Yucca (49 species and 24 subspecies) covers a vast area of north- and central America. From Baja California in the west, northwards into the southwestern USA, through the drier central states as far north as Canada (Alberta province, Yucca glauca ssp. albertana), and moving east along the Gulf of Mexico, and then north again, through the Atlantic coastal and inland neighbouring states. To the south, the genus is represented throughout Mexico and extends into Guatemala (Yucca elephantipes). Yuccas have adapted to an equally vast range of climatic and ecological conditions. They are to be found in rocky deserts and badlands, in prairies and grassland, in mountainous regions, in light woodland, in coastal sands (Yucca filamentosa), and even in sub-tropical and semi-temperate zones, although these are nearly always arid to semi-arid. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia / _____ This Yucca photo was captured in the mountains above Los Angeles, California a few years back. I used Photoshop Fractalius for the special effects then enhanced the image using Photomatix HDR. Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. Ps 36:5: ¶ Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds. / Ps 36:6: Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast. / Ps 36:7: How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. / ________ This image was taken at the Huntington Library Botanical gardens a few years back. It was taken in the Springtime. I combiined the original image with one of my hawk images. Merged the two in Photoshop CS3 then added the Orton effect for the final results. Digitaly enhanced art. The Huntington’s superb botanical gardens cover 120 acres (485,624 m²) and the theme gardens contain rare plants from around the world. The gardens are divided into more than a dozen themes, including the Australian Garden, Camellia Collection, Children’s Garden, Desert Garden Conservatory, Conservatory for Botanical Science, Desert Garden, Herb Garden, Japanese Garden, Lily Pond, North Vista, Palm Garden, Rose Garden, Shakespeare garden, Subtropical and Jungle Garden and a Chinese Garden (Liu Fang Yuan 流芳園 or the Garden of Flowing Fragrance) now open in the northern end of the property. In addition, a large open field planted with Eucalyptus trees serves as a re-created “Australian Outback.” The Huntington has a program to protect and propagate endangered plant species. In 1999 and 2002, a specimen of Amorphophallus titanum, or “corpse flower”, bloomed at the facility. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Huntington Library was named after its founder Henry E. Huntington. I noticed he had been folding some of the pages and thought that it would be need to see if I could make a heart with it. / / / Christmas Rainbows Nativity is a mixed media production on brown paper / I used white acrylic gesso under, with a mix of chalk pastel, black marker and charcoal to create this little piece especially for Christmas 2008 You may notice that each character has a Heart… / Jesus’ heart is white – symbolic of his purity / Mary has a pink heart – symbolic of a mother’s gentleness and softness / Joseph’s heart is red – symbolic of father’s strength and reliability The idea of sending Rainbow Wishes for Christmas 2008 seemed appropriate in light of our global situation, the Rainbow stands for Hope or Promises made that they will be fulfilled…. I think we are all hoping for the fulfillment of the promises made to us by our governments, our leaders, our friends and family for PEACE and GOODWILL towards all men, regardless of race or creed….and not least of all God himself who spoke about rainbows being a sign of promise and hope, and also Jesus who’s birth it is we celebrate, mainly because of the hope his birth put in our hearts for true freedom from our chains (but if you are not a believer, the artwork still speaks of the promise of hope…..if not a believer in hope…then this one isn’t for you …but perhaps it will speak to someone’s heart and help spread a little hope for the future around )

The first in the Four Winds of Heaven Series. The North wind brings rain (Proverbs 25:23). Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire. / Ezekiel 1:4 Digital Mixed Media compiled in Photoshop CS2. Ps 139:7: ¶ Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? / Ps 139:8: If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. / Ps 139:9: If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; / Ps 139:10: Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. / Ps 139:11: If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Isa 40:31: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. / ___ This art was created using several of my photographs and merged them using Photoshop CS3. I started with a landscape, screened and merged it with a screen layer of clouds. Then I screened and added the eagle. All images were merged and hue adjusted. Next I screened and merged a second layer of clouds for the finished effects. I adjusted the gama light with Micrografx for the finish image. / Digitally enhanced. The saying “red sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning. Red sky at night, shepherd’s delight” was very true and evident this particular day, at Staughton Vale, near Geelong. / The same warning was also spoken of by Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, in the Bible, centuries ago. Matthew 16:1-3 The Pharisees and Sadducees Seek a Sign 1 Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. /

Ge 1:26: ¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. / Ge 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Ge 1:31: ¶ And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Digital creation using personal photographs, art, Photoshop CS3 and Micrografx. I first overlayed the clouds and sky for the background. Then I added the holding hands to finish the work. I am honored to learn that this work has inspired a beautiful poem by the talented Ms Adgray (Alyssa). I highly recommend you read it. Hand in Hand Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. As always, the long awaited dawning and sunrise never seem to disappoint. / So it is with God’s Mercies and Compassion. Psalm 130:6 (New King James Version) / 6 My soul waits for the Lord / More than those who watch for the morning— / Yes, more than those who watch for the morning. Lamentations 3:25 (New King James Version) / 22 Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, / Because His compassions fail not. / 23 They are new every morning; / Great is Your faithfulness. / 24 “ The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, / “ Therefore I hope in Him!” / 25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, / To the soul who seeks Him.

Ge 1:9: ¶ And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. / Ge 1:10: And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. / Ge 1:11: And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. / Ge 1:12: And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. / Ge 1:13: And the evening and the morning were the third day. This is my entry into the For Living Christianity group competition, day three, Genesis. this is a sunset taken a couple of weeks ago here in Irvine, California a few years ago combined with several sunset images I took here in Mohave Valley, Arizona a couple of weeks ago.
