This is a bit different; the primary image was shot from the inside of an ice cave in North Eastern CA two years ago…...Ice caves are prominent in this part of California due to the volcanism that dominates the area. (This was taken near Farr West Utah) I took this picture of the sky . The clouds were beautiful and when I took it I was a bit frustrated that the trees were in the way.. When I saw it out of the camera I liked the affect and mood the trees brought to the picture.. instead of the trees blocking the clouds , they became the frame that draws our attention beyond the trees. My frustration of the trees being in the way of the clouds, brings to mind the way things are in life. Sometimes all we can see are things blocking us from what we want . If we could realize that sometimes the things in life that seem to be in the way are the very things that helps draw our focus to the beautiful things in life /

Oh, to explore the lands beyond the painted sea, maybe some day, when the radiation is no longer so high. But only 6 centuries have passed since the end of the ” war to end all wars”and it is said in the counsels of the Humafins, that 10,000 years must pass before the lands are safe. Still, I can dream as I sit back on my tail before returning to the painted seas of Mother Earth.

This is a view down the mighty River Tyne from the swing bridge with it’s old wood jetty pointing down river like some old barge. Like a half remembered ghost of the trade that once and still does flow along this river. The river separates Newcastle and Gateshead and yet such is the relationship between the two sides of the river, there is a wonderful number of bridges connecting the two banks. In front the first bridge is the classic Tyne bridge , with the Gateshead Sage building glistening in the wet light underneath, while beyond lies the modern “winking eye” bridge. This foot and cycle bridge links the redeveloped riverside of Newcastle to the reinvent Baltic Flour Mill, now known for it’s contemporary art shows. Converted into pinhole black and white and best viewed large Featured by the kind hosts of The Olympus and Four Thirds Group and The Beauty of the European Waters Group
