Away beyond the blue / One star belongs to you / And every breathe I take / I’m closer to that place / Yeah, baby / I’m gonna meet you there / On the outskirts of the sky / Yeah, baby / And we will fly / Away beyond the blue / One star belongs to you / This life is but a dream / Go gently down the stream… lyrics by Beth Nielsen Chapman

It’s the end of the year, and naturally I’m thinking of how much I’ve evolved creatively over the last year. I’ve just completed my first poetry book, which is currently in production, and now I find myself looking “beyond my sight” to see what lies out there waiting to be discovered. Inspired by the song Becoming by Jewel. Unfortunately, I cannot find it anywhere online due to copyright issues, so I can’t provide a link. Created from 2 stock photos and a variety of digital effects. These are rather like broad tagliatelle and I prepared the dish like this… / Roast about 10 cherry tomatoes cut in half, in olive oil with 5 garlic cloves and a sprinkle of dried chili for twenty minutes. Halfway through the roasting, add some small whole mushrooms. I used oyster, buna-shimeji and shiro-shimeji varieties. Meanwhile bring some water to the boil, add salt and the pappardelle. After 5 minutes, add a handful of baby spinach leaves and cook for a further 6 minutes. / Serve the pasta with the roasted, tomatoes, garlic and mushrooms. / Total preparation and cooking time 25 minutes. Buon appetito! The lighting was overcast daylight (the best diffusser) through my kitchen window. N.B. This image is now for sale as laminated kitchen art! I was very pleased that RedBubble was selected by Always On as a top 250 global company. As part of this I got to go to Stanford in the US to talk about what we are doing. The audience was the press, venture capitalists and folks generally interested in emerging companies. I will be honest it was great fun to be back in Silicon Valley talking about what you are doing. And here is what I had to say. You will notice that we, unapologetically, will tell people about sales on RedBubble. We can do this because we only make money, when the artists on RedBubble make money. So when we celebrate our success we’re also celebrating your success. It is a core plank in our standing for artists. This is very different from sites that have advertising or subscription driven models. In this regard one of the most important things folks can do is to find ways to work together. “Sharing the Love” is a great project like this. The premise is simple a a chain of interviews designed to share the love by asking people about their creativity. Let’s see one another through new eyes and discover the source of creativity and inspiration. What makes you creative? How does your art impact your life? Who inspires you? Thanks to Lisa Weber from the US, for letting me use her story (I think I got it largely right). Thanks also to the follow people for giving us permission to use their images:Melanie McQuoid, from the UK, Micmac from Canada and Mel Brackstone from Australia. Martin (aka Pilgrim) P.S. – There was a little mini release this morning – you’ll notice a new activity event in mybubble new topics in my groups. This ‘feed’ will show new forum topics in your groups – making it a little easier for you to stay in touch with what’s happening in your groups. It’s part of a longer term strategy to make it easier for you to find activity and work on the site that’s relevant and interesting to you. You can add this feed to your ‘favourite feeds’ and it will be included in the default list you see each time you land on mybubble. There’ll be lots of new feeds popping up in the next few weeks …

Through a beautiful sculpted Hindu archway, I gaze over the Aravalli Hills that litter the Rajasthani landscape. The hills stretch approximately 560 km from northeast to southwest Rajasthan, and then continue as isolated hills and ridges into the state of Haryana (formerly part of the state of Punjab) and near Delhi. The highest point is on Mt Abu, and is known as Guru Shikar. It rises 5653 feet (1.72 km). The hill range is further divided into the Sambhar-Sirohi and the Sambhar-Khetri ranges. The peaks of the Aravalli Hills are famous for their white peaks, formed not by snow, but by large masses of rose coloured quartz. / __ Dedicated to Marnie Kaur Sidhu, a friend who helped me through picking a new domain/flickr name (and helped me name a business in the past) :) / : at Jaigarh Fort, Jaipur, Rajasthan.
