  flew up to Brisbane yesterday and loved watching the coast line below, seeing all the places i’d paddled, run, swum and cycled over the last few weeks. Spectacular.My friend from High school, Drew, picked me up. we drove to his little Qld’er in Wynum and took his dogs for a walk thru the bush. They’re half dingo/ half husky and look incredible, one with big icey blue eyes and Drew gets sick to death of everyone asking whether they’re 1/2 dingo… we drove down to the Gold Coast to the new Moulton gallery at Southport and it’s a great space. Melinda, the owner is stunning and had the most amazing see thru mesh beaded dress that covered the important bits. She (and her mum) have been selling my work now for 18 years!!! This is her new “baby” and i hope it goes really well for her. She’s made great friends up there who all suport and love her. The artwork all looked fantastic and then i met the other artists! Wow! Allesandro Barocchi does beautiful paintings of Italian settings with views in backgrounds which i was drawn to immediately and we really liked his partner Jacqueline’s work and then we met them! They’re so wonderful, J is beautiful with a bright red hair halo around big green mesmerizing cat’s eyes. She had us enthralled with stories of the house she’s bought in Sicily and said we MUST visit her…and i agree, we MUST! Alessandro is the gentlest soul, with a litling soft voice and (we’re told) an absolute genius; artist, lecturer, architect and perfect gentleman. / Carlos is another local Sydney artist who flew up and lives across the harbour from me. Dressed all in white, he donned a perky little hat at dinner and with his glasses perched on his nose is the perfect stereotypical flirtatious Brazilian and had us in stitches most of the night. Dinner was superb…Marios at Broadbeach and Allesandro had painted all the murals around the restaurant. drew and i shared a big crusty pizza and Greek salad. The we drove back to BrisVegas and i have to say i talked all the way, poor Drew! / It was a bit of sleep, back to the airport this morning at 5am, big coffee and while waiting in line to board plane i talked to a guy who looked the splitting image of Gary Sweet. I was engrossed in a book and as we boarded the plane the flight attendant said to the Gary Sweet look alike “hi, Gary” and sat him in the front row…........it’s a bloody good book. I’ve put some of my works into the Bicycle Film Festival BESPOKE exhibition opening December 1st at the Mori Gallery in Day Street City, anyone interested in bicycles should see it. Hard to find the Gallery though! Then again, i am a blonde…....
