Birkenhead Park is a public park in the centre of Birkenhead, Merseyside. It was designed by Joseph Paxton and opened on 5 April 1847. It is commonly regarded as the first civic public park anywhere in the world. It is widely accepted that, after visiting the park in 1850, American landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted incorporated many of the features he observed into his design for New York’s Central Park.

A woman in a bright orange dress looks out over the backwaters in Kerala, India. That is a banana tree she is standing next to. Not only is it’s fruit delicious and sweet (much better than the crappy bananas we get in Melbourne), but the large leaves are used as plates for eating spicy ‘thali’ throughout Kerala and Tamil Nadu. I would like to have framed this a little differently, but it was taken from a moving boat, and only seen at the last second.

a NC country stream that most people will never see, its beautiful,we were out looking to buy a new land and house and came upon this, its in the BackYard you see, and When we buy this it will be in Our back yard, so i share it with you now, we are moving real real soon, and i love it when our back yard looks like this, hope you all enjoy, stop and smell the roses, stop and watch a stream, just need to stop somtimes and enjoy life all around you…thats what i do. Beside the Seaside is for the Create an exhibition poster for “Make up Your Mind” exhibition WITH MAKEUP AND OTHER STUFF which is now open for entries. Voting will start for this challenge in 6 days. I created this on a substrate of brown paper, the dresses are from corrugated cardboard, and i’ve used some gingham for ribbon and pockets…. the other things i used were black boot polish for the hair, blue hair gel for the sea, plus blue nail polish for the water, along with white lipstick…. pink lipstick for the cheeks rouge and a brown tinted lip gloss to draw the legs and shade the faces…i used an eleliner pencil to do the eyes and lips, i have also used photoshop and some foundation for the shadows under their feet :) We were asked to create a poster to advertise the upcoming Make Up Your Mind Exhibition in Sydney at the Manly Arts Festival which we hope to go in…that will be in September. / / it kinda looks cute in a frame, i couldn’t help myself….don’t expect any sales from it though, just for presentation purposes of course :) Looking for inspiration, then check out these fantastic artworks on youtube created with makeup products! / Lipstick Painting Gwen Stefani / Lipstick Painting Angeline Jolie

We were near Ovando, Montana, looking for wildlife, when a hawk flew off a post from alongside the road. Instead of gaining altitude and flying away from us, he flew alongside us as we continued down the road. He looked us in the eye, as we looked him in the eye. It was awesome fun. Nikon D300 / hand held / 70-300 mm lens / Thank you to those who voted for the hawk in this challenge!

As I was taking images of a sunset with stunning colors right after a storm I noticed the tall Yucka bloom stalk and decided to include it in the shot. I was glad i did when I saw how it turned out. As is Nikon D40X - / - / This is from the same image but is a cropped and digitally enlarged image to show the rain drops on the blooms.

We see this when we walk down the ramp from our unit. I have heard of blue roses, and think this has a hint of blue. Taken with Pentax K20 camera and 70 – 300 mm Sigma lens at 210 mm 1/180 f 22 ISO 400 flash to lighten shadows.
