Waxy white beauty berries (Callicarpa species) ripening on a slender branch. Nature hedges her bets, not allowing all the seeds in the berries to ripen at once. Where one seed may fail, a later one may succeed. Photograph by Betty Mackey.

This is #3 in my series of Card specific art work.. i am looking for a company on line that does recycled paper for cards.. I think if anyone did this we could make a lot more.. I belong to a green Moms 400 strong group on the coast.. they will hire me as their official photographer if i can find some ‘green’ type paper and ‘ink’ for developing ..we shall see.

Our lace leaf maple is interesting all year ‘round, and I love to watch the colors as they change from deep green to burgundy to burnt sienna, orange and yellow. When it dropped most of its leaves last fall, they curled into danciful, fanciful patterns, and asked me to paint them. 10”x 6” on Arches 140 Cold Press. This reminds me of gummy candies.. I think it’s the color. I was also craving gummy candies while editing this. So that explains a lot..hehe.. I took this some time in the fall when these berries were still on the tree in my front yard. Enjoy!
