Don’t eat them… haha…. This is growing in my front yard, but I have no idea what kind of tree it is. It has pretty blossoms in the spring though. Enjoy!
When I showed him this picture, a friend noticed that the ice drip looks like it’s trying to imitate the frozen berries… What an interesting observation! Isn’t nature neat?! © Cadence Gamache
This untouched macro image of tiny icicles forming on a rosehip was taken with a Pentax K10D. The edges of the icicles had begun to melt in the afternoon sunshine but were soon to freeze up again, as the warmth of the sun hasn´t got a lot of strength here yet and frost was already rising when this shot was taken. / The fact that water can take on so many beautiful, fragile and delicate forms and can adorn whole landscapes, transforming them into works of natural magic, never ceases to amaze us. This is the main wondrous fact that makes our long, often very rainy and grey, winter bearable. Eifel region, January 2009, on a beautiful winter sunset. / As is, untouched work! / / /

Ah the fabled cherry—the poetic color of luscious lips, and just as sweet. It started out in West Asia (perhaps the Persia-Armenia region) and in two varietals from which all cultivated cherries are descended: Prunus avium (sweet) and Prunus cerasus (sour). Sweet cherries had spread to Ancient Greece and the Mediterranean by 300 BCE, for Theophrastus mentions them. And Pliny the Elder (1st century AD) mentions that some 8 varieties of cherries were being cultivated in Italy—and that the Romans were spreading them as far north as Britain. The British, in turn, carried it to the New World in the 17th century (Beyond the huge crops in Michigan, California, Oregon, and Washington, American wild cherries include the chokecherry, the pin cherry, and the wild black cherry. Sour cherries have spread even farther north, and are a speciality of Germany and Scandanavia. Today it is estimated that some 900 sweet varieties (ranging in color from yellow to black) and some 300 sour varieties are being grown. Most sweet cherries will produce fruit only after they’ve been cross-pollinated—honey bees usually do the leg work, carrying pollen from a sweet cherry of another variety soupsong.com See some samples of the collection below, and view the entire collection to date, at the Bubblesite HERE / Plum Blossom with Apples and Cream / / Sour Cream Bumbleberry Tart with an Apricot Glaze / / Ginger Shortcake with Nectarines and Creme Fraiche / / Spicy Chewy Ginger Cookies / / Chocolate Cupcake with a Mocha Swirl / / Cinnamon Bun / / Scone with Berries and Cream / / Lemon curd and Blueberry Tart

Despite the arthritic pain in my spine today I needed too paint,, I chose a compromise of spray paint which meant up and down my basement stairs until layers and colors were accomplished,, back up stairs at my couch with a tv table using acrylics for the branches and berries, used real maple leaves as templates 16” x 20”,, thinking Autumn,, these are a series I will continue too create,, as Autumn is sneaking in,, and I do many shows and these sell well in my home area.. this is the original,, had too take pic outside in natural sunlight because of the spray paints,, high gloss, so get lots of reflections,, learned too take pics outside when weather accommodates,, painting created today,,, 09/01/2009- on white glossy poster board!!!!!! / “maple” / “maple”
