  • Ripe and juicy strawberries on mirror.

  • This pic was taken in my parents’ garden in Abergele, North Wales in the middle of winter… / My parents thought that I was crazy trudging around in the garden with my tripod, but to me it was quite normal… Capturing the moment as usual… I might add some greeting text on the left hand side in a gratuitous attempt to capture the Greeting Card market on RedBubble…

  • Waxy white beauty berries (Callicarpa species) ripening on a slender branch. Nature hedges her bets, not allowing all the seeds in the berries to ripen at once. Where one seed may fail, a later one may succeed. Photograph by Betty Mackey.

  • Prairie Marmots….. UNTOUCHED IMAGE AND STRAIGHT FROM THE CAMERA ! Generally large ground squirrels, those most often referred to as marmots tend to live in mountainous areas such as the Alps, Carpathians, Tatra, and Pyrenees in Europe, the Rockies and the Sierra Nevada in the United States, and Northern Canada. However, the groundhog is also properly called a marmot, while the similarly-sized but more social prairie dog is not classified in the genus Marmota but in the related genus Cynomys. Marmots typically live in burrows, and hibernate there through the winter. Most marmots are highly social, and use loud whistles to communicate with one another, especially when alarmed. Marmots mainly eat greens. They eat many types of grasses, berries, lichens, mosses, roots and flowers.

  • The birds won’t eat these berries yet, and I have seen them turn a great shade of dark purple. I wouldn’t ever eat these, I have seen the dark purple bird droppings as a result, and I wouldn’t want to find out what they would do to me!! I’m not sure what type of berry it is, so I would never eat it anyway! Thanks for viewing my work!!! If you like what you see here, have a peek at the rest of my work.
