Hatched on Good Friday this Greylag goslings and his two siblings are the first hatchlings of the year at the University of York. I first saw Benji and the others on Easter Sunday and this photo was taken on Easter Monday when they were just three days old. I named this one Benji as it was the first cute name I thought of.

The two previously posted photos of Benji have prove a great success netting 61 views and six favouritings in just four days. No where near a record by RB standards but massive by mine. I’m so grateful to all concerned that I’ve posted this collage of the little fellow. “Roll up, roll up, roll up! Yes folks, four for the price of one! It must be the bargain of the week”!

I first posted photos of Benji the day after Easter Day when she was just four days old. Four and a half months on she is nearly fully grown.

My one ond only youtube video will come up as an icon, click or double click on it to play the video. Sorry but the quality is poor. It was perfect as it came out of my Lumix but youtube compressed and pixelated it to a nearly disaterous degree!

Benji aged two weeks.

Yes folks this is little Benji who, only six weeks ago, was a cute little ball of down. Sibling Benni is much larger so it is likely that Benji is actually a lady. Therefore “Benji” is now short for Bejamina rather than Benjamin.

Benji and her brother Benni are now about twelve weeks old. They are probably flying in the company of their parents who will show them their regular haunts.

This is for those of you who have followed my photos of Benni & Benji. Despite being only eleven days old when this was taken Benni is nearly 25cm long from the tip of his bill to the tip of his tail. Good going considering his egg shell was less than 10cm long. Graylags are amongst the world’s fastest growing geese.
