  • The Bengal Tiger Tigers are the largest members of the cat family and are renowned for their power and strength. Bengal tigers live in India and are sometimes called Indian tigers. They are the most common tiger and number about half of all wild tigers. Over many centuries they have become an important part of Indian tradition and lore. Tigers use their distinctive coats as camouflage they lie in wait and creep close enough to attack their victims with a quick spring and a fatal pounce. Despite their fearsome reputation, most tigers avoid humans; however, a few do become dangerous maneaters. These animals are often sick and unable to hunt normally, or live in an area where their traditional prey has vanished. Females give birth to litters of two to six cubs, which they raise with little or no help from the male. Cubs cannot hunt until they are 18 months old and remain with their mothers for two to three years, when they disperse to find their own territory. So far I have received Distinctions for all of my work, and am hoping the same for this one, wish me luck! This painting is in Acrylics, on A4 320gsm Canvas Paper. I chose to paint a Tiger as my Mum-in-Law loves them, so it serves two purposes…it goes towards my FA Diploma, and a gift for her too! It looks wonderful, double mounted, and set in a thick beech frame, which compliments the tones of the Tiger perfectly. Hope you like! :)

  • I am doing the volunteer photography of the kitties & the bunnies at the SPCA here in Las Vegas. Anything that will be purchased here will go 100% to the SPCA. • I had been deliberately avoiding drawing tigers, even though they are one of my most favorite animals, because I was intimidated by all of their stripes. So this piece was my challenge to myself. Sadly, the Bengal Tiger is an endangered species. Original measures 11×15”, mixed media (oil pastels, colored pencils, metallic paint pens, art pens) on cinnamon red ridged Strathmore paper. • The tiger, largest of all cats, is one of the most charismatic and evocative species on Earth; it is also one of the most threatened. Less than 4,000 remain in the wild, most in isolated pockets spread across increasingly fragmented forests stretching from India to south-eastern China and from the Russian Far East to Sumatra, Indonesia. A portion of the proceeds from these endangered animals cards and prints will go to the World Wildlife Fund. / This Bengal Tiger is a 5×7 marker, pencil, and chalk pastel on 60 lb. illustration paper. There will be a total of nine (maybe more) 5×7 inch pastels. Each of the originals is for sale for $350 (matted plus shipping) with $100 of that going to the World Wildlife Fund.
