This is a shot of one of the many cemeteries in town, this is the lane that leads into it. It was a really weird day with a mix of sun and cloud and fog. The light was great for shooting, the colors of these dead leaves were so vibrant. / / More from this cemetery series: / / / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

Not sure about this….......it was an experiment with a cross between a holga and lomo effect. Might fiddle a bit more and see if I can replicate the effect more closely. This shot was taken at Trinity Beach in Cairns, a few minutes walk from our old house. Rumour had it that this particular bench had special powers….......if you sat there pondering a problem in your life and the light hit at the precise moment, all your wishes would come true. Needless to say, the light you see here is all done via PS, but I still like the folk tale.

I thought the contrast was a little harsh on the original version of this work, so I’ve softened the colour by adjusting the balance, and I’ve also added photographic filters. This image was taken early this year while walking along Markeaton Canal. Hope you like the updated version! Thanks, Jen :-) Photography and editing by Jennifer Woodward © 2008

This picture was taken a few years ago after a really big snowstorm. I believe we got close to a foot of snow that day. Maybe more. The brave were out taking photographs and playing. It was a magical day.

Winner 1st prize in Live, Love, Dream contest # 3 / I was inspired by my friend Here Goes who shared with me a quote one day, and we spoke of how he aspires to practise this as his personal ethos…“the true meaning of life, is to plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit….” Nelson Henderson / Writing by Here Goes / the undertaking… / Discerning true direction / What of this life? / Am I to merely exist, or inspire? / Who chooses? / Who chooses to make a choice? / How will they measure me? The questions twirled, / and answers once tangled… / Emerge / Such mystery we create / such illusions, our shield / from the simplicity of Life The measure is no matter / But the meaning, / Now there is something / With sharing, / Not self / Our efforts shall endure A small step / can be a giant leap with / positivity and perspective Is expectation worth it? / Harbouring disappointment / Heavy on your shoulders You see the burden dispel, / And the heart burst / With every smile you create / The ease with which, / one makes a difference / Makes one different And it is not the act / of planting one tree / That realises your gift / It is the leaves / That shade someone else / Which gives it weight Your tree, is their shade / Your ethos, is their smile / Your choice, is the true Legacy

I took this one today and it turned out with the usual blue and whites…I wanted something different and so I had a fiddle with it in Photoshop Elements 4.0 I’m really not sure what I did to get it to this place….but I think it turned out OK. / I added a few layers, inverted one, multiplied them, added gradients – all sorts of fun stuff and this is what happened. I doubt I could do it again if I tried. / What do you think??? / / / / / / /

After our early morning photo shoot out at Bilgola Beach, my mate and I decided to stop at neighbouring Newport for a coffee. We failed to find a coffee place open at this time so instead we wondered around with our cameras to see what we could find. A glorious morning such as this was being enjoyed by the locals….one local in particular decided to have his breakfast overlooking the magnificent Newport beach and in between two grand Norfolk Pines…. Photo Taken: 11-Nov-2007 / Time: 7:00am / Conditions: Great sunny morning / / / / / / / / Some other seascape art: / / / / / / /

Hampstead Heath is an exclusive part of London where the property prices are in the millions of pounds bracket. The heath itself has lovely walks around it, lots of wild life to see and views to die for. This shot was taken on my Canon AE1 35mm camera about 25 odd years ago. I have just scanned into the computer and then tweaked in Photoshop Elements 5.
