  • This is a re-work of a previous image. In the original, the door, architecture and old paint work, take centre stage. However I always was struck by the mint coloured bench, and when I found the Bench Group, I thought it a great time for the bench to have a say! Watercolour filter applied to further give an aged feel.

  • Another of my trademark benches – taken this time last year, on a stormy day, at a Spring “Open Garden” in our area. • Taken on the Byward Market in Ottawa, Ontario. I went there not really with the intention of taking any photos. I decided to throw my camera in my purse anyways seeing that the fall colours have started to come out and thought that the Market might be filled with autumn goodies. As one of my comments below states, although I love the artistry of graffiti, I do not necessarily condone it. What I loved about this is that it was a positive message, which is so rare these days.

  • This lily pond is a constant source of inspiration … never fails to remind me of my favourite artist (add a bench, and it is idyllic!!!). / Shot from a similar spot to my Enticement shot. • This is the result of ‘photographer’s block’ !!! The misty log bench has been processed and languishing in a file for a few months … last night I decided to marry it with a maid to see if I could add some interest. • I happened upon this lovely bench painted as the American flag while on Coronado Island near City Hall. The sun was setting. No one was around. Isabella’s voice giggling in the distance for me to hurry and catch up. It made me stop. And stand directly in front of it. Almost demanding respect. My heart beat faster. My throat lumped full. I felt sad and proud all at once. Instinct almost forced my hand to my heart. Instead it was my camera to my eye. Published in File Magazine’s Lensbaby Gallery This photo is untouched. / Canon 40D / Lensbaby Composer – 4.0 / ISO 1600

  • The path along the river and looking over tweed bridge in Peebles, scottish borders. Olympus SP560UZ f/3.4 / 1/640 sec / exp +0.7 / 9mm Tips and comments most welcome !

  • Looking out from a replica iron age round house* in glentress forest outside peebles in the lovely scottish borders on the site of a settlement dating back 1900 years…. ... The bench is well sited to take in this captivating view across the tweed valley. Taken Jan 09 with an Olympus SP560UZ f/8 1/250 sec ISO-200

  • Seaside benches sit in the fog, waiting for the tourist season to arrive and to be temporary home to so many people, all with stories to tell.

  • Infrared / Shoal Bay, NSW. / btw – that lens flare is in camera – I really liked it in this piece. ;0)

  • Star of the boardwalk. on the Santa Moncia Pier, California Fallen star, fading star – the viewer is free to interpete and give whatever meaning they see fit. 519 Views / / /

  • A lovely tranquil woodland setting for this rustic bench (at Kailzie gardens, near Peebles in the scottish borders) surrounded by wonderful spring flowers like blue himalayan poppies, pink and bluebells, daisies and yellow celandine… while the nearby stream trickles down through the glade of colourful azaleas…. For a closeup of the blue poppies see himalayan blue taken in my garden (not this one ..lol!))
