One of my first shots taken a DSLR, shot two years ago in Edinburgh, Scotland, during the G8 Summit – which explains the large amount of “Save The World!”-pins on his jacket! Some months later, I got a note from a fellow photographer on deviantART.com, linking me to a picture he shot himself – of the very same man. It’s a small world, isn’t it?
A pair of street lamps I passed today resting after a long night’s work. They are humble folk who just need the occasional seat to help us out. Also part of the series of T-shirts:
I love shooting at night, and generally am out alone when I’m shooting – it’s when I produce my best work (in my mind anyway). / / This is one of my favorite places in the city. You can sit here alone for hours, traffic streaming past, only the occasional pedestrian, while hundreds, or even thousands of people are just a few feet below. It’s both a quiet spot to find refuge, and a place that symbolizes the loneliness and isolation that can be experienced in a city of millions. © Sara Lamond 2007. I took this one today and it turned out with the usual blue and whites…I wanted something different and so I had a fiddle with it in Photoshop Elements 4.0 I’m really not sure what I did to get it to this place….but I think it turned out OK. / I added a few layers, inverted one, multiplied them, added gradients – all sorts of fun stuff and this is what happened. I doubt I could do it again if I tried. / What do you think??? / / / / / / /

Mother Thames bursts her banks after months of heavy rainfall… what a beautiful spectacle she offers, the wonder and grace of nature. .. a formidable force indeed.. Her strength inspires me and her beauty leaves me breathless.
