first i thought about getting a hotel room for that shooting, but the only one i liked was in the hilton, and unfortunaly they wanted 400€ for for a night, and there was no way like renting it for an hour or two (and the be honest, with 400 bucks i will buy a new lens, or a decent scanner, or a light meter, or other creepy stuff ^^) / So i decided to go over and ask my neigbouhr I i could use her rooms for a small shooting :) / And it worked, it was the first shooting with my new medium format camera.. damm! i messed it up pretty much, but the model is a good friend of mine so we have a laugh about the mess (and some digital pictures as compensation) Thursday the colour negativ film will be developed, and this evening i will develop the black&white film on my own (and hope i will get acess to a scanner this week). But back to this photograph ;) And for anyone who is thinking about buying it 60% of the money will go straight to lilli, the model.

The feeling of freedom, to breathe once again and feel the wind as it sweeps across the open fields. I feel the solitude and the tranquility, lift my face and feel the purity of the air, it envelopes me stroking me and i embrace it willingly. Here i could lay me down and die in the arms of the elements all alone slipping into eternal conciousness…...........into the arms of my Beloved Maker…........... I saw this portrait in a restaurant in the Lower East Side of NYC near the mens restroom. It was much larger and I simply closed-in on the part I wanted to caputure. I loved the old, aged look of it and will always wonder about the fellow in the portrait from whence time has surely passed. Immortal Beloved is inspired by a great 1994 film about Ludwig von Beethoven. It’s the untold love story and goes further about the genius and the madness behind the man. The SOUNDTRACK is great, too…FYI. :)

Ani l’dodi vdodi li – I am my Beloved’s and Beloved is mine. This image is deeply symbolic to me as it represents my relationship with Yeshua. He is my Beloved, i love Him passionately and i am His. He loves me like no man ever could, deep in my inner being where soul and spirit meet. This golden ring is the symbol of the never ending love He has for me with the words from Song of Songs written through the center. These words are taken from the love letter He wrote to me and were forged in the winepress of death. He holds my soul in His hand and protects it from the harshness of this world. I wish you too could feel His Passion and oh if you could just smell His garments you’re heart would melt. His eyes are like pools of water and my heart leaps to hear His footsteps. His shoulders are broad and His heartbeat steady as i lay my head on His Breast and smell the clothing steeped in His scent. His words are whispers, heavy with love and i desire Him. The soft gentle light forces the darkness away and ushers in the silence filled with anticipation. His lips brush against mine, His mouth tastes sweet and i am consumed with passion for Him.

mixed media on canvas 24” x 20” i made this piece when i was in the beginning of a 5 year relationship…. much love and awe going on. the creation began with newspaper on canvas. i have always loved the colors in the grocery store adds… and all the fruit. i don’t remember having a plan for this piece as is usually the case. it appeared to me. as you can see, most of the newsprint is painter over…except the apple and the space around it that forms the eye. the pink and stripes and a few changes on the male character came more recently….after we separated. i have a picture of it before. maybe it should go on red bubble, too. i celebrated when i sold the original for 1200 dollars. the relationship was over and i felt it appropriate that it find a new home …...and it did. it lives in california now. partnership as sacred…...

...this is a tribute to my beloved daughter Theresa and this is how I see her in her Heavenly form..she was a free spirit and loved the sea, I called her my little Mermaid’ ..and she left me this song Whalesong .....a poem from her brother… ‘I promise I will set eyes on you again, this I know. / Where the fields are green and the daisies grow, / the willows weep not but smile and sway. / Where the snow is warm and never forlorn, like your heart and soul as it always was and IS. / When you walk beside me for you live on, this I know. Size: 21cm x 29.5cm / _______ / This is a painting of Nefertari, favourite queen (1300 – 1250 BC) of Pharaoh Rameses II (1279 – 1213 BC). When her burial tomb was dicovered in the Valley of the Queens in 1904, it was described as the most beautiful tomb ever, by Italian Egyptologist Ernesto Schiaparelli. The tomb (or hypogeum) was built on the scale of a pharaoh’s tomb, decorated with paintings of astonishing beauty. / _____ / I added a cartouche and some hieroglyphics that was found in her tomb, on the right of her image in the painting. Some info about the cartouche: Like the body, the ba (soul), the ka (life force) and the shadow, the name, was regarded as an essential element of every individual. It had to be included in the deceased’s tomb to ensure survival in the afterlife. As some of you will know, daughter Melanie was married to Arthur Gallucci in January. That was the civil wedding in Belgium which was an amazing event. But so was their church wedding which happened last August 16th in Montreal where they now live. I wasn’t the official photographer (hey, Dad’s gotta take a break now and then to enjoy a wedding, yeah?), but I did take nearly 400 pictures which I’m now sorting through hoping to get about 30 or 40 decent ones covering our two weeks in Montreal before and during the event. Last time I did a JE with a link to the pictures and will probably do the same again when I’m done. But in the meantime I’ll upload a couple that I think best describe the emotion… This one just came up by chance. The priest was busy at the alter during part of the ceremony, and Mel and Art happened to turn and smile when I had my camera handy… which was admittedly just about the whole time. 1/20 sec, f7.1, 16mm. Eglise de la Visitation, oldest church in Montreal. Best man, Art’s brother Joe, looks on.
