“This pretty pony kept me enthralled for a long time. His endearing face and sweet eyes were a delight to watch. Displaying an amusing curiosity, he kept me company for a long hour. He seemed to enjoy posing for me. / / His luxurious flaxen mane an the coppery hue of the eyelashes are true natural beauties. His amber eyes reflect a kind spirit. With a friendly push of his velvety muzzle he asked me for carrots. / / When I bade him good-bye, he swayed his graceful neck and flowing mane and happily trotted back to his red barn.” / / / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens. “In hot summer afternoons, dragonflies dance in the warm air. Their acrobatic flight defies gravity. Mastering the power of obstacle avoidance, these active creatures like to rest atop flower stems. Yet, this dragonfly decided to rest on the ground. / / “Seemingly indifferent to my proximity, it remained motionless basking in the sun. I approached carefully to appreciate this beautiful individual. The delicate wing pattern is a masterful piece of art. / / “The turquoise and green colours of the dragonfly body gleam like jewels.” / / / =========================================================== / Few may be aware that Dragonflies in Massachussetts, USA are an endangered species listed in the U.S. Endangered Species Act (U.S. ESA). / / All proceeds from the sales of this image of a local Dragonfly will be donated to: / / Massachusetts Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program / / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / Carmen, creator of Art for Conservation
“Quietly lying by her barn, this pretty ewe made me stop my bicycle ride to pay her a visit. In a placid cool afternoon, she greeted me with a sweet glance and a calm disposition. Her face was beautiful and her eyes melted my heart. Surrounding a sea of amber and golden hues, her long white eyelashes framed surprisingly bright eyes. / / Taking close-ups on her adorable face, a rainbow of colours and patterns unveiled: the iris wore fine lines defining a gradient of rich earth colours. Her eyes sparked like jewels. When I bade her good-bye, she quietly turned her head towards me in what I took as a kind invitation to visit her once again. “ / / / Image © Carmen Mandel-Cesáreo / / / —-—-—-—-— / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens. “Watching this pretty pony’s sweet face kept me enthralled for a very long time. His curiosity was amusing and he actually liked to pose for me. He kept me company in the golden afternoon hours, offering me his pretty profile and luxurious mane playing with the wind. I could capture many instances of his facial expressiveness. / / Here, the pony’s mane brushes the wind while a spark of sheer amber arises from the inquisitive eye. Luscious eyelashes in a fiery copper hue frame the sweet glance of this quiet friend. “What a wonderful realm of patterns, colours, textures and hues the beautiful horse carries!. Nonchalantly trotting his striking beauty, this handsome individual is a pleasure to observe. / / From the bristly ear hairs to his soft velvety muzzle, from the silky cascading mane to the luxurious golden braids of his tail, he is a true delight. The bay coat is set ablaze in a fiery red during the warm afternoon hours. “In a balmy summer afternoon, the sun rays made their way through the petals of my fiery red lilies. Set afire in the golden light, a beautiful iridescence appeared on the surface of the petals. Bathed in golden glitter, the velvety surface gleamed like a jewel before my eyes. / / Of intense beauty and delicacy, the petals offered a marvelous spectacle only once in this unique afternoon, for the flower cycle started its decline the day after.” / / / / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens. “Set aglow in the afternoon golden light, the mane of this bay friend turned fiery red. Undulating gracefully on his neck, the sparkling colours were a feast to the eyes. “Every morning my pretty Hibiscus greets me offering a new regal flower unfurling. Almost every day the flower is of a sheer fuchsia colour. Once in a while, a flower blooms in a delicate shade of yellow. / / Taking a closer look at this flower, I noticed a visitor quietly sitting in it and embracing it wholy. The long and thin legs touched the petals delicately and remained motionless when I approached. The morning sun rays revealed a Daddy-long-legs comfortably stationed. / / The breeze made the flower quiver. The light played through the yellow petals; it was warm an inviting. The cosy spot made this delicate visitor remain long, adding its beauty to the morning greeting” / / / / / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens. “She lay quietly among other flowers. As if unaware of her intense beauty, she humbly shared a crowded stand in a farm. She whispered by my ear and I turned. My eyes were filled with her regal colours as my heart halted. Her glowing face nodded at me. / / I indulged myself in the contemplation of her sheer beauty, her intricate face, her lovely petals and her delicate patterns. I wondered whether she was missing the feeling of warm damp soil, the company of foliage and the caress of misty rain”. / / / During my travels in Thailand and Cambodia, I reveled in the extraordinary and fragile beauty of the Orchid. A large-scale illegal trade and other threats decimate their environment. / / Currently, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCNR) list 100 Orchid species in status from vulnerable to critically endangered. / / / Image © Carmen Mandel-Cesáreo / / / —-—-—-—-— / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens.
