  Thank you so much to all my fellow bubblers’ well wishes with regards to my joint exhibition show :D I’m most happy to update you with the news that The Dreamer was sold yesterday to a Belgian(they are called Belgians right?) customer! I was down at the show yesterday….just to see how things were and of cos I dont deny the fact that I hope to meet someone who will love my work enough to buy….so I went around looking at others’ works…then I came to my own…and I saw 3 men looking at my owls :D So I mustered enough courage to introduce myself as the one behind the owls…so to cut the whole story short, one of the men said his mum is a super fervent owl lover and he’s looking for a birthday present for his mum! I couldnt believe my ears and my heart was just leaping with joy! So now The Dreamer is going to reside in some part of Belgium and in the loving hands of a fellow owl lover! :D I brought my cam along and wanted to take a shot with this customer…and guess what..no SD card inside, I left it in the laptop, so no pics to show here today. He did get his friend to take a pic of us so I really hope he remembers to email me :D The painting looks exactly like the framed print above…black frame with black board within :D Happy happy! Another 7 days before the show closes :D “The Dreamer” is also available in many other products in my Zazzle Gallery :D

  : / Since so many wonderfull works have been submitted the Beautifull belgium group in the past few weeks, it´s really a bit of a shame not to let some of them get the limelight for a while. Because of this, i chose to let the group avatar change every month and each time replace it with a shot that that little extra something. The first time i chose this new avatar myself (a wonderfully composed and lit photograph of a lacemaker), but it would be nice if the process would become more interactive. As i think this group is too new (and therefor still too small and inactive) to host a full competition with voting and whatnot, i´ll limit things this time to letting you pick out a work you really like and posting it on the Beautiful Belgium forum named “Monthly Avatar Change”. Just post a thumb or a link or just copypaste the webadress of the photograph, / and i’ll choose the winning avatar from the lot. With luck we will be bustling enough to have a nice little election next month.

  okay so I had to take my guinea pig to the vet yesterday (there’s an image of him at my RB, called “I’ve got my eyes on you”). / He’s all but fine… lost too much weight, is dehydrated and when the vet examined his tummy (pushing and feeling his tummy)... he felt something that wasn’t supposed to be there… a swelling…. and that’s cancer… The vet thinks that he’s probably best of when put to sleep…. ‘cause he’s in great pain at the moment (the sign of getting skinnier and skinnier is the proof of him being in pain, the vet said… / The “last” decision will be made tomorrow (Friday).... so I’m kinda hoping for all your prayers and support to give him a good time these last few moments…

  okay so I have an update on my guinea pig ... and it’s a positive update :) let me start with the beginning.. / about two weeks ago I noticed him getting slimmer, but nothing to get worried about… then a couple of days ago I saw he was much too skinny and lacked his lifely energy of running around and making his pig’s noices and so on.. so I got worried.. I called the vet on Monday to explain everything and made an appointment with him / (I went Wednesday, the day you read my first journal entry on him) / There I got the sad news that he probably has a cancer-swelling in his stomach. / And he does still have a swelling in his stomach, but since he’s recovering so trumendously well… it’s unbelievable but I really do believe that all your prayers and positive thougths helped him along his healing… The vet thinks that he was doing so badly because of a lack of vitamine C… that’s a vitamine the guinea pig needs in order to be healthy and that could have triggered him to get so skinny… not feeling well and didn’t want to eat… But I took him inside the house on Wednesday to take extra care of him and to watch closely on how he’s doing and whether he’s eating and drinking well… I even gave him a whole orange (cut in pieces of course) and he loves it! So by this morning his behaviour had changed into a more active piggy and he was also eating and drinking well… so when I called my vet today (he told me to contact him this evening to check on the situation) and when I told him how good my little piggy was doing .. he told me that he may very well recover from all this… well we will have to get him checked regularly for the swelling in his stomach and so make sure that he’s not in to much pain… My vet assured me that the fact that he recovering at the moment that is pain is reducing as well… so it’s absolutely not necessary to let him be put to sleep… And I am so so so glad about this! / I just couldn’t image him not being around anymore.. he’s part of the family and he should for some more years so I do hope he will heal well and that he can be reunited with his friends soon, ‘cause they are all wondering where their friend’s at… I have four bunnies and another guinea pig in the garden in a large cage / (it’s 5 metres by 4 metres and then two metres in height and there’s a net on the ground in order to prevent the bunnies to dig wholes..) Thank you all so much for your support and I will be posting more pictures of my ‘special care’ guinea pig soon :)

  so you all know about his health and how he was doing the past couple of weeks.. / well, this Thursday (May 22nd, 2008) when I got back home from work.. I went to check on him and also put him outside for him to enjoy some fresh air… / I saw that he wasn’t all that active and both his eyes were full of water… (or tears if you may) / now I got scared and didn’t know what was happening to him…. so I called my vet… told him everything and he thougth that the little fella had an allergie of some kind… so he told me to buy eye-drops and use that ‘till the allergie was gone… and also wanted me to come over with him, so he could be checked … / so I went to the vet… and what he found out wasn’t all that good… / the swelling in his stomach is still there and it’s still big, so it’s clearly a cancer swelling… the rest of his tummy was okay, so nothing to say that the swelling was from a bad digesting-system… his nose and his colouration were all fine… but that swelling is all but fine…. and the fact that he’s still skinny (although he eates like a horse) points out that the cancer is taking a lot of his energy…. / The vet told me there wasn’t much to do about it, since the swelling is so big… / so he told me to keep on nursing him like this, keep him apart indoors, and give him lots of food and water and lots of love.. for him to enjoy his time around here…. / If he gets better, than it’s likely that he will continue to have ups and downs (just like a human that has cancer)... / but if his situation doesn’t get better than, we should take him out of his missery…. but it’s not that time yet people… we are now a couple of days further and the little one is doing better than he was on Thursday… so I think he going to have a good period coming for him :) also, I decided to name him Maurice…. / He didn’t have a name because of the loss of my first guinea pig, just a couple of years ago, and because of the pain I decided to never name a guinea pig again, but seeing him like this and knowing that he’s pretty good considering his situation, I decided it was only fair to give him a name…

  So I did my first modelshoot today (May 11th, 2008)with me as the photographer. and it was fantastic! / truely amazing how this man (Wilmer, 65 years of age) was enthousiast about everything, and posing wonderfully! / we did a shoot of about two hours and made little over 200 photos! / There was no particular theme, but we did a outdoors’ shoot so that all the inspiration I need… :) we made photos in very different locations, and that had as result that we have a lot of differency… what makes it more interesting of course :) I have already posted two photos of him on my RB… hope you enjoy!

  Yes, I’ve registered (thanks for the word Karl __ I know you will read this) myself at a school in Hasselt (Belgium) to attend eveningclasses to become a professional photographer, so to really earn my degree in photography.. / This course will go over three whole years!!! I’m really looking forward to this!!!!!!!! Classes start this Wednesdayevening (September 17, 2008) / Two times a week (wednesday evening and Saturday morning). / Lots of assignments; which I loooooooooooooooooove, ‘cause I work better when I know why I’m holding my camera in my hand. Keep you all updated on this, and of course I will be posting my work on RB as well, to let it be inspected by your “pro” visions!! :-)

  I started modelling in Decembre 2003.. loved everything about photography and wanted to see myself in lovely pictures, just to get more confidence. As the modelling continued, my interest in photography got bigger and I got an urge to get behind the camera myself. / I owned (and still do) a Sony Reflex camera (not digital), but wanted to go digitally.. / So last Summer (July 2007) I finally took the step to buy myself a nice digital reflex camera, one I was longing for so long, but didn’t have to cash to buy it… / And it became a Sony alpha 100. I love everything about this camera! and mostly the fact that I can get great shots from my cats, because of the great focus this camera has. :) And to tell you what I wanted to say actually.. / I made myself a photographer’s profile on the site where I am on as a model as well.. / you can view my profile at : / http://www.modelmanagement.be/profiel_model.php?id=12913 the profile for photographer is being reviewed at the moment so I hope it will be up and running soon, so I can get started on photographing people.   Could I be anymore disgusting when I say, why haven’t I sold anything yet? Cmon seriously, tell me, which leg do I have to stroke? Who do I have to send a virtual wink? I just want the satisfaction of selling something, and putting away money towards my vacation (which will result in more pictures for redbubble!) So – what do you want from me? I ask! What do you want me to show you through my camera? I’d really like to know, so I can show you (and hopefully you can buy!) ;) Well enough of the horrible side of me! Let me tell you. I’ve had a lovely week. Aside from working heaps! It’s been fabulous! I wish this week could be the same! My lover boy was lovely this week too. H, brought me out to lunch and we had a splendid day at a Belgium cafe where we drank Belgium beer and ate deep fried Camembert for lunch and had delicious Belgium waffles for dessert. There I also learnt that he is quite the avid photographer too! I wish more days were just like that.. But that involves money, and time which sometimes is quite hard to find. Well, it’s late. I hope you’re all well.. AND BUY from me! I’ll even throw in a free body part of your choice..;)
