A portrait version of this shot These are 300 year old beach trees and getting to the end of their natural life. When touring around Northern Ireland we were lucky enough to see a couple of photos of this place and eventually managed to find a toutrist info person that knew where they were. So with the sun low in a September sky we headed out and found possibly the most stunning bit of road I have ever been on in my life! Sony Alpha A200 18mm

The Crown Dining Liquor Saloon, Belfast This is my favourite watering hole, where you want the Guiness attached via an IV and to be left alone to contemplate the mystery of the inky black goodness standing before you.

There is a funny story with this penguin :) / This was in Belfast zoo. We were visiting with my husband and he had a map of the zoo in his hand. For some reason he touched the glass with the map and the penguin reacted immediately by trying to byte the paper through the glass. His beak hit the glass in effortless tries. It was sooo funny! :) Where ever my husband put the map the penguin followed. This went on for a while and there was a crowd starting to gather behind us. At one point another person decided to have a go at this fun game and took his car keys, put close to the glass and showed them to the penguin. I am telling you – the expression on that penguin’s face was priceless when he saw the keys!!! His eyes went big and he swam quickly away. It was almost like he was thinking: what the hell is this! Hahaha / Times like these I would really want to know what and how animals think :D
A 3 Shot HDR processed in Photomatix / / HMS Belfast is one of the two ships forming the final sub-class of the Royal Navy’s Town-class cruisers, the other being HMS Edinburgh. Commissioned shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War, Belfast spent much of the early war years undergoing extensive repairs after being heavily damaged by a German mine. Returning to action in late 1942, she saw action escorting Arctic convoys to the Soviet Union during 1943 and participated in the Battle of North Cape. In 1944 Belfast supported the D-Day landings of Operation Overlord. She saw further action during the Korean War. Decommissioned in 1963 following a number of overseas tours Belfast was initially expected to be disposed of as scrap. After a campaign by a private trust, she was preserved as a museum ship in the Pool of London. Opened to the public in 1971 Belfast has been maintained as a branch of the Imperial War Museum since 1978.
sitting here causes a sore butt …
This view was captured from the middle of London Bridge, hand-held four exposures stitched together with the pano-filtre in photoshop elements. I think it worked out quite well considering I didn’t have a tripod with me:) I had to wait until the sun was shining on Tower Bridge and HMS Belfast before snappin away. I’ll definitely go back and this time, i’ll take a tripod with me. Captured with Nikon D700, Lense 24-120mm. / Bright Winter’s Day on Friday 13th Feb 2009.

Hi This is a shot of a buddy of mine doin a fly-over. The trick he is pulling is a no-footer to one hander. I give these guys alot of respect. The jump he is on is approx 6ft high and 14ft long so the hight they get is something else. We held a bit of a get together of all the locals in a form of ’ searching for talent up north ’ which i put together to find the best riders in Ireland. I say up-north because this was shot in Northern Ireland. Still, its Ireland all the same :) Camera Settings Shutter Speed >> 1/100sec / Aperture >> f/5 / Focal Length >> 18mm ( thats my lense wide open ) / Metering Mode >> Pattern / Flash >> no flash ( i forgot it this day ) It was shot in Raw and later processed in PS CS2. The adjustment were, Curves, Levels, hue and saturation and finally reduce noise. It was then saved as a Tiff file for storage and a JPEG for uploading here. The location is ’ Local Trails Belfast ’ Ireland Thanks for taking the time to look. Stevie
