  • Waiting for life’s train… as it passes me by. Taken at Beijing Metro – Tiananmen East Station (I think).

  • A lone bicycle parked under Chinese New Year signs in a small walled village outside of Beijing. The village was once a part of the Chinese version of the Pony Express

  • July 13, 2001 when Beijing was selected for the 2008 Summer Olympics. People literally poured into the streets after this and it has been a countdown ever since. The Olympics will open 8/8/08 at 8 o’clock. 8 is a lucky number in China, associated with good fortune.

  • Crowd control Chinese style, just a short distance from the Birds Nest Stadium in Beijing on the evening of the Opening Ceremony for the 29th Olympic Games. There were literally 1000s of military on every corner! It was a very humid evening and we felt very sorry for them all. They must have been baking in their uniforms! Taken with Canon 40D, using 70-300 IS USM Lens at f4.6 and 170mm. ISO 800 and 1/4 second mounted on a tripod.
