Nasty Bubblemails

I seem to get my share of creepy and nasty bubblemails and emails. Thankfully not all that often, but often enough. I have always used two tactics with such people. The first is to reply to them “I don’t think that was an appropriate email to send, but seeing as how you do, you won’t mind me publishing it with your email address on my profile.” While this works well as a scare tactic, it doesn’t prevent them from moving onto another victim. The other tactic is to report the offending bubblemail to redbubble using the link provided and let someone objective review it and act. Today I got an (in my opinion unprovoked) email that said: “You are so disgusting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” This is just the latest. I’ve had much worse: untalented, slut, idiot, you should be ashamed, f words, revolting… the list goes on. Heck, I’m the first to admit when I’ve pushed someone’s buttons wrong but I’m only quoting ‘out of the blue’ type mails here. Anyway… I’m on a tangent. My discussion questions are: What do you think is the best way to deal with people who bubblemail or email nasty things? Do people actually use the report button? And if not – why not? Any good ideas for how to tackle situations where people are not as lovely as they first appear? Where does this type of behavior become bullying or harrassment?

A juvenile male Elephant Seal is looking backwards at the photographer (me) Image was taken at San Semion California. This young male was a part of a group that had at least 500 Elephant Seals. The pacific coast is home for this wonderful mammals and San Semion has several locations where they are protected. This was taken away from the tourist location, and on a streach of the beach where no people can go. distance was about 5 feet away from the animal. 50% of all proceeds from the sale of this image will be donated to the Marine Conservation Organization Consider my other images of Elephant Seals /

A hummingbird is seldom still; I’ve been watching birds for a long time, but I’ve never seen a more energetic, feisty, restless species than the hummer. This particular ruby-throated hummingbird is fluttering its wings threateningly before buzzing into a high speed chase to ward off competitors from its food source. I’ve even witnessed these tiny mites chasing cardinals which are MUCH larger than they are, yet they are fearless!

Australian fire-performance champion Steve Kelly performs yet another breathtaking performance at the world famous Buddha Bar, Byron Bay. / Captured here on film at 1 sec exposure, the trail of flame creates a veritable vortex of energy around him as he conjures up maneuver after dangerous maneuver of flaming art.

They stopped and kissed. I was not prepared for this. It’s the entrance of a shopping mall and the lighting was dark. The camera setting was for shooting under the sun. But this blur gives them some privacy. It can be seen from young people’s recent fashion styles and behaviors that this summer they will be more open and liberal. A good sign. But hope the change could be more profound.

The Objectification of Women Forum is now locked. I requested that the forum be locked because it had become so long that it would be impossible for a new comer to catch up. I thought perhaps a new thread could be started. I do not recommend anyone try to start a new thread on the subject. I hope that no one bothers to attempt intelligent conversation with the group of intellectual Neanderthals that dragged the discussion back to the Dark Ages. Just read the last few pages of the forum and you will see for yourself. The behavior of the participants is disgraceful, disrespectful, and makes a joke of a most serious issue involving women around the world. Your names and obscenely ignorant statements are there for the whole world to see. I will be directing every women’s organization I can find to read that forum as an example of just how much work is still required in the fight for equality, dignity, and respect for all women. I had hoped that human beings had evolved to a higher level, particularly people who claim to be artists. Those of you who made light of the topic, ridiculed those who spoke in favor of gender equality and the end of objectification of women are participants in the continuation of inequality of women and girls around the world. Shame on you for your behavior. Shame on me for holding onto my hope for a better world. OBJECTIFY THIS OBJECTIFICATION DEFINED WITH VIDEO

When watching the skies for intruders, the hummingbird sometimes stretches and appears to be standing tall—well, as tall as a three inch bird can stand! This ruby-throated hummer is looking mighty proud in its tippy toe stance.

The Shy One (part 9)
by S.I. Sheehan and T.H. RepaskyHuman is closer to the divine that all else, yet few seem able or interested in that potential.
The human experience is profound. Are human bodies hosts as many religions suggest? Are we travelers seeking to grow in wisdom and discover the Earth is one of the best schools for karma and temptation? Every expression and opinion has value. The only thing that differentiates opinions is the quality of the value.
