“Sunny” is part of a series (acryllic and ink on paper) I did for a book of my paintings combined with humorous animal poetry (from various authors) called “Het stapelschaap en andere dierengedichten” ISBN-10 90 77408 27 4.
The bees are having a party. We are all invited to the bee dance. Beehive is framed with pretty purple flowers.
A view of the Beehive balcony on the right and office block across the road. Note the NZ flag reflection in the windows from the top of the Beehive.
I took this image from a helicopter ride over the Bungle Bungle range in Western Australia, shooting was facilitated by the lack of doors. This is about as late in the afternoon as you can go, or else it falls into shadow, Taken with a Mamiya 645 with 45mm f2.8 lens. 1/500 @ f5.6 on Provia 100F. First image posted to the landscape group, hope you like it.
The Bungle Bungles are an amazing landscape with beehive domes as far as the eye can see. This gorge can be walked up for the day, or overnight and is not a walk done by most. Around ever corner is another jaw dropping landscape. We were lucky to be there when there was still a little water around. You do get the impression though of what a different place this might be when there is water rushing down this creek in the wet. Another beautiful little corner of the Kimberley!

This old toilet is found in the Inneston Village, I don’t think I would want to use it.
Hmmm Guys – not sure about this one. Let me know what you think. What I liked about this shot was how you could take something boring (it is metal linked together to form a temporary driveway) and turn it into such an interesting and abstract photo. I have a close up which may be more interesting and will load as well. Suffice to say it intrigued me – the symmetry, the obvious blur of the background….

This beehive, nestled in the bright autumn leaves, was a beautiful sight.
The Devils own The night is dark and cold / The strong winds and the rain / Crack the branches up on my window / The Devil beats his drum / Casting out a spell / Dragging all his own down into hell. The ticking of a clock / Inexorably goes on / The howling of the stray souls of heaven / The treasures of the cove / Where the traders stored there gold / Echo voices still dead to the world Underneath the vine / Shaded by the leaves / I still hold you close, to me / Beneath the open stars / Beneath the pillows and the sheets / I still hold you dear, to me The ticking of the clock / Surely Sunrise won’t be long / When darkness hides inside it’s own shadow / The Devil beats his drum / Casting out his name / Dragging all his own, down into shame. Out wandering in the bush one day, I came across these beehives set up in a small clearing. The dark moodiness of the bush and the white hives lit up by bright sunlight inspired me to create this picture in pen and ink. / visit my website

There is no doubt that these additions to the belt of parklands that completely surround Adelaide have caused comment. I will leave you to decide what they are. They are on the roadside as you enter Adelaide City travelling from our Airport. / The day was one of the few dull days in Spring, but I was anxious to have a subject for my new camera. Nikon D90.
Sit and take in the life of the water / Slowly release all the stress of the day / let your mind relax and body re-alter / As your soul sends all your worries away Trudi 09 Sometimes we just have to slow down …........... The rugged cliffs and craggy escarpments of the Grampians are dotted with many waterfalls, including the picturesque Beehive Falls that drop into a sheltered rocky valley. This gently undulating track follows the meandering Mud Hut Creek upstream, through forest to a series of rock steps and on to the falls, surrounded by colourful cliffs. At Beehive Falls delicate ferns and mosses cling to the sheer rock walls as the cascade tumbles over huge boulders in its 25-metre drop. Large stones beside the rock pool at the base of the falls make a peaceful picnic spot. Return by the same route. The walk is especially beautiful in spring, when water levels are high and the display of pink and white wildflowers spectacular. From Parks Victoria This was taken in the middle of the afternoon on a day with quite challenging light conditions, by the way this faces l would say the perfect time to photograph it would be on a day that was very very overcast or before the sun rises over the escarpment / Beehive Falls is in Roses Gap at the Northeren side of the Grampians {Gariwerd} NP Australia ! The Bungle Bungles, in Western Australias north east are located in the Purnululu National Park in the Kimberley region. There is so much information on them here and as much as I tried to shorten the information I thought it better to add a link so you can read about them in full. The flight left from Turkey Creek and as I was parked up there for the day thought it was a great opportunity to go and have a look.
This is an old photo from my SLR (Nikon 8008). My sister balancing a beer…on her hair! We are a retro 60s girl group band. Taken on a break, between sets. FEATURED in the group People and Portraiture Photography – Sept. 09
This geologic structure in The Valley of Fire – Nevada State Park is so named for obvious reasons. The sandstone in this park has innumerable amazing and varied shapes. The sculpting has occured over the ages due to wind, sand and water. This park offers many truely breath-taking landscapes.
I couldn’t resist going back to the beehive again today. My heart was pounding as I crept closer, hands were shaking, breathing was fast. The buzz of the bees seemed really loud and I’m sure some clipped me on the way through to the nest. I got to within a couple of feet of the hive…whoa…what a rush. I’m feeling it again writing this :-) I still have the fear but I think that will subside eventually :-) Taken with a Panasonic FZ-18 For more beautiful images of Tasmania please visit RT Gallery
