I recently found helium.com and have written over fifty articles for them. I love it and I”m making a little money, but it’s growing slowly. My articles are about vacation rentals, cat care, kids and crafts, art supplies, my (deceased) Honda, our Saturn Vue (my first new vehicle ever), fighting slugs, birds, bird houses, humor – what fun for a writing addict!

Mountain oysters and sweet potato fries? There’s a new restaurant/bar in downtown Fredonia. It’s called the White Buffalo and serves the best sweet potato fries out side of the South. The mountain oysters aren’t bad either. It’s one of the bright notes in the increasingly depressing downtown area. Anyone who wants to know what mountain oysters are can Bubblemail me.

This is a rather recent revelation for me and I was wondering where I might post it. I don’t normally bother to read those health info block thingys, I just workout alot to offset my appetite. Anyways, No joke! Beef jerky is my fav. Not just any old beef jerky will do either… Wild Bill’s is what you want. it tastes great, takes forever to eat, doesn’t take any time at all to cook (though opening the package may be kind of tough) and is only 50-70 calories an ounce. A whole package contains 175 calories. Definitely the perfect munchy food for those days you just want to sit in front of the TV and watch anime (in my case). The downside is that it is kinda spicy… best taken with plenty of water. Aside from the above, it makes a great light breakfast. I’ve always found that the smaller my breakfast, the better I feel throughout the day. It’s also a good snack to bridge the time between getting home from work and eating dinner (or if you don’t feel like cooking, just eat jerky instead!). Beware though, some jerky is mostly fat and meat that must have missed the trash can, that stuff probably has alot more calories.

  • Odd things to do with beef, prawns and turnips - a sort-of Bid! challenge

We can sometimes feel a bit jaded about our photography. A theme to shoot can help that. BrainCandy found an extraordinary link about Chinese dishes and their ostensibly curious names. I thought it would be fun for Bid!ers to see if they can shoot or produce an image using the hilarious names of some of the dishes in this link . Scroll down the bottom of the page the link will send you to, and see the names of the dishes for a weird photo theme inspiration. It’s not a challenge or nuthin’, I wonder about the merit of challenges. This is just a fun list of dish titles that I reckon some Bid!ers could enjoy trying to represent.
