Inspired by a Rueters / CNN article in April of 2004 describing the devastating effects of the beef industry on the Oxygen of the World, i.e, the rainforest.
Find me a cheekier beef horse than this, and I’ll gladly give you my favourite teapot. Detail, colour, taste and pure cheek – this cheeky cow’s got the lot. To quote what she said to me just after I took the picture: “Moo”. And you can’t argue with that. Proud of your kitchen? Imagine this beauty on your wall. As a picture, I mean. Not the actual cow. Look at my lovely shop: http://baddoggy.redbubble.com/ Taken on the cliffs above Robin Hood’s Bay, near Whitby, North Yorkshire. I could’ve cropped it conventionally, but I couldn’t bring myself to chop out that sky.

Oy!
Chomping and guts’n down the beef is a passion, backyard barbecued, stew it, roast it or just eat it ala steak tartar, you have to kill the cow, drain the blood, butcher the carcass, pack it, ship it and then you eat it…the State of Beef. Eat your greens leave the meat alone. / Try this if you are committed to eating meat of any kind….cut back…eat only humanly raised (LMAO ?) animals that are not loaded with hormones and other additives (think about what they put into these animals you already have Styrofoam residue in your body…yes you do check it out) and start thinking about eating cats and dogs why discriminate it is on the menu in China…like beef, pork, pigs, lamb and the champion meat of all “chicken.” Next time you reach for that bucket of fried chicken…just give out a cluck and squawk….next it could be you on the menu…humans taste like chicken so say cannibals to cannibals….Bon Appetit!!!! / Cows emit tons of green house gas (farting farts) eat less beef…eating less cows is a small thing in your daily life….multiplied by millions of people eating less beef…less green house gases. Of course in the new economy of the world….people now may not be able to eat cow meat…the cows are dead….and most economies will be in the toilet…wiped out and flushed…think about that. / More stuff at: hinkiepinkie
a Close up of the flicker looking for hiding bugs amongst the snow.the snow has now settled into a pretty good blizzard or darn close to it.
cattle in nw Tasmania getting stuck into a good feed of seaweed which is high in nutrtion which the cattle love , the cows are all preagnant and just crave for the nutrition and the iodine in the seaweed…which leads to the most sought after beef in the world and is why i love living in tassie

Well he wouldn’t wear polka dots, or put dye in his hair, and he certainly wouldn’t make rap music to put in a movie with a bunch of turtles! Thats for sure!
Ankole-Watusi cattle are the show-stoppers of the bovine kingdom. Medium-sized animals, with long, large-diameter horns, they attract attention wherever they appear. These regal animals can easily trace their ancestry back more than 6,000 years and have often been referred to as “cattle of kings.” This one i found , not a true breed, from the looks of him.. but oh , what a guy .. so interactive. Thank goodness for the invention of barbed wire. Fort Myers, Florida. The Wedsnday Watusi Cow things to know about Florida : / Dairy farming is an important part of Florida’s agricultural industry. UF/IFAS has estimated that the value of cash receipts from the sale of milk for 2005 was $413 million, up 1% from the $409 million reported for 2004. Total dairy farm receipts were estimated at $444 million dollars. The Florida Agricultural Statistics Service has indicated that there were about 130,000 dairy cows in Florida in December, 2006. That is down from 135,000 in late 2005 and 152,000 at the start of 2002. This decline is consistent with a long term trend showing fewer cows and dairy farms. The number of Florida dairy farms, 151, has continued to decline at a faster rate than numbers of cows due to narrow margins, escalating land values and the uncertainty of the cost of environmental regulations, particularly on the part of owners of dairies with less than 700 cows._ source

Railroad comes every morning for his “bowl” of catfood. This morning he stuck this pose and I found it quite entertaining. While he is really a wild animal, he has been coming to the porch for a couple of months now. When I get up and turn on the lights in the house, he is at the screen door begging for food. We rather consider him our “wild pet” and named him Railroad. Canon EOS 50D / Canon 18-55mm Lens / F 5.0 at 1/60 sec / Flash
