  • This is a further interpretation of a previous painting- sometimes I love the theme so much I have to keep revisiting it to do it better. I love the way the rainbow bee- eater’s colours glow against the earthern backdrop- it tunnels deep in the ground to nest, and I love that contrast.   • Mum came over for a visit today, and as we were sitting out in the glorious spring sunshine this little guy came buzzing along. A spilt cup of tea, a quick dash upstairs for the camera, and a pair of very dirty knees later… this!

  • I do not know if many of you know this, but look at the body of this bee. The body is almost detached as you can see from this angle. Very interesting and you usually cannot see this. Hence the name Poser for the way the bee is posing!

  • Another macro shot from the Sigma 150 f2.8 marco. Dropped the levels seriously after playing with selective colour. Cropped it in a little tighter for effect together with unsharp mask!
