I waited very patiently for a honey bee to hover near this flower. Sometimes patience pays off—and I didn’t get stung!
I’m not really a bumble bee but don’t tell anyone. I know I’ve got a hairy bum (if you look closely) but I’m trying to disguise it amongst these little pods. Remember, I’m only a little thing… I’m trying to work here!
Found this on a walk to the slushie store with little one today! Loved the look of these two flowers. The bee’s both fuzzy and green guys were having a hay day on them

I created this with copic art markers and a .005 micron pigma pen. I wrote this poem to go with this drawing: “Garden Dance” As the morning sun rises to a brand new day / My garden flowers unfurl themselves, and then begin to play / Stretching their petals upwards, reaching to the warming sun, / My flowers bow with elegance, and playful, joyous fun. All creation laughs with joy, at this wondrous circumstance, / At the thought of beautiful flowers, that love to laugh, and dance. / As I watch my beautiful flowers, there’s a lesson I’d like to share. / It’s how these flowers gloriously exist, seemingly without a care. They bloom where they are planted, / And they die when it is time. / They don’t fret, nor do they worry, / Yet, how beautiful they shine. So, if you find you’re sad and struggling / With the cares of the world, this day, / Take a lesson from my flowers / And let your cares fall, and melt away. catherine howell / 12 2008 I created several products on zazzle with this design. Taken in my garden January 2009!
Last summer there was this crazy metallic green bee hanging around my garden. It was intersting because it hardly moved… I know it wasn’t dead because it walked around the flower it was on… but I went inside to get my extension tubes and a half an hour later it was still there. I don’t know what type of bug/bee it is… but I love it’s coloring! Enjoy!
