It’s wet in Brisbane… loving cozy days and nights I reckon this’d make a nice…. “missing you” card. Abstracts and Artsy Architecture Landscapes and Nature Street Tasmania
Took this today at a place called Belsay Hall – it was part of an amazing exhibition. This is a tree coming out of a bed. The whole exhibition was wierd and wonderful – and really eerie – the sounds echoing out, chilling!! It was a nightmare to photograph as the light was appalling and people around (how dare they!!!!). This room was beautiful but plain wierd – hence the title dreams and nightmares.

OIL ON CANVAS
When Paul Vanzella told me he was shooting with Sarah, I bought, begged and stole my way into that shoot. And who could blame me! I was there as a second model and helping out with styling but I couldn’t resist firing off a couple of snaps while Paul and Sarah were doing their thing. Model: Sarah Lea Cheesecake / Photographer: Jo O’Brien / Lighting Design: Paul Vanzella

This is one of my very first sunset shots. The weather has been really nice and has made some very lovely sunsets. I happen to live on a hill which overlooks the San Gabriel Valley and this view is taken just to the south of my house. Downtown LA would be towards the right, facing this image. The sun lit up the sky and I pulled out my tripod quickly and tried to figure out the exposure. I took about 8 photos and this one came out the best. This was taken inside my bedroom. I have a balcony outside my room, but I thought taking it inside the room would be more cool hehe :) This was taken with a Canon Elan, 100mm lens, 35mm film, and shot at f4, 38 secs. taking into account reciprocity failure from the film.
“Forgotten Fields” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © “Whenever my journey gets hard to bear / To fields I go to meet You there. / The Holy psalms I shall recount / My horse of courage I shall mount. / My journey through this land gets longer / My hunger for Your home gets stronger. / When hills to climb get only steeper / My love for You gets only deeper. / I shall not stray nor lose my course / With rein in hand, I’ll guide my horse / To fields of good and plenty be / These fields, the ones You promised me / Are void of enemies and grief. / These fields supply me with relief. / I mount my horse, I’m on my way / And in Your fields, My Lord, I’ll stay.” / ~Marie Paradise Recent Sales: Card – unknown buyer – Australia / Thank you so much. / Profits donated to Starlight Childrens Foundation Australia See “Forgotten Fields” at my website /
This one I’ve intentionally washed out to highlight the eyes and nose. I did a bit of digital cleaning to make the impact a bit more. The cat’s name is Giblet and he’s a real suckie.
View from my bedroom :-) Gotta love NZ skies !!
