In some ways, we are no bigger and no stronger than little dragonflies, yet we need not fear as we have a gracious God to watch over us. I’ve experienced two hurricanes in the last two weeks and though we have suffered financial losses and extensive damage to property, faith remains firm and strong. I call that a miracle. Storms can uproot trees, blow off rooftops, and even take lives, but they can’t touch a strong inner core of faith that trusts in a Savior who will never fail us in life or in death. So with the Psalmist we can pray with confidence: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1)

It always amazes me how plants can cling to life in the most unlikely places. These buchberries are growing in small cracks in bedrock where a tiny amount of soil has collected over the years. Dryden, Ontario.

Here is a scene that is a little different for ya. Under the cover of trees the water seeps out of the ledge rock. I had a very hard time figuring out the correct exposure for this. I think this is a good balance of light at the end of the tree branch tunnel and the dark of the overhanging branches. Canon xsi

The Aguasabon River flows into the north shore of Lake Superior, in Ontario, Canada. It originates in Long Lake, is 70 kilometers long and drops about / 30 meters near Terrace Bay. The bedrock in the area is about 2.6 billion years old, and the river follows fractures in this bedrock until it reaches Lake Superior. A well-maintained walkway allows excellent views of the gorge and the various flora which manage to find root on the cliffs. Taken in Late August 2006, Sony DSCF828 camera. /
