Sunrise near Gold Scope mine, the small res was used to power a pump to drain water from the mine.
Probably one of the oldest artworks I’ve got up here… done in my second year of uni. Just three of my mates. But this is uniquely one of only 3 actual oil paintings I’ve ever done, on masonite. I always found oils difficult and still do, hence the fussy detail and lack of confidence with the medium. But I intend to have another go this year, maybe on a larger canvas.

Re-worked a shot I took quite some time ago, in order to enter it into the Redfield Plugin people challenge. Initially this started as a 30 second exposure, with me moving to a different spot at the counter every 10 seconds or so. Then I ran it through 2 different Redfield filters, layered both and selectively punched through it here and there (selective coloring). Then dodge and burned a little here and there, and now I am ready for a beer!!!! This has been taken with my Nikon D200 and 18-70mm lens. My art with 1000+ views

There are several named waterfalls on Eller Beck and none are easy to reach without a bit of rough and tumble! This one is no different and unusually the path to it ends abruptly causing a re tracing of steps. It is however a lovely spot, the sort of place you’d expect to see fairies (small winged variety).

Wasn’t sure what to do… I was working on a portrait photo of this little waterfall on West Beck when I realised that a square crop would show off the movement of water much better… so I decided to post both. I always think that the square crop shows off the detail much better on a computer, unfortunatelyr portrait shots on a computer aren’t blown up big enough to see the detail / The waterfall in the background is Nelly Ayre Foss.. Another shot of this delightful waterfall, it’s setting seems very tropical, it’s a pity the weather wasn’t :-) It was a very misty day, it seemed as if the clouds had enveloped the ground. The scene is lifted by the bright greens of the ferns and newly formed brackens. Maybe too much greenery in shot, not enough waterfall, but I like the atmosphere, you can almost see the mist in the trees. The shot is only partially HDR, it helped bring out the mist in the tree area. WATERFALLS SET

A small beck flowing down towards Littlebeck in Eskdale in the North York Moors National Park. My luck was in, the light was low and lit up the little valley giving it a magical feel. / Canon 350D hdr MY WATERFALLS SET
I posted a zany version of these waterfalls.. I guess it’s time to post it in my usual style.. / This was taken after heavy rain, it’s actually a small beck called East Grain Beck. It’s at this point that it flows into another beck called Hind Hole Beck which flows down Swinner Gill and into the river Swale :-) I’ve just noticed how much Redbubble crops off this in card form, it’s disappointing. This waterfall is on the North York Moors, about two or three miles from the village of Little Beck. WATERFALLS SET
