Taken looking south to Wollongong from Providential Point, Royal National Park, just south of Sydney Australia. / This is my first attempt at a multi-exposure blend. This image is a combinations of 57 X 30sec exposures using the fantastic Startrails Photoshop Action that you can download free from this excellent site: / www.schursastrophotography.com/software/photoshop/startra… I was put on to this action by Dave Burrow whose amazing startrails image can be seen here: / http://www.redbubble.com/people/davidburrows/art/321722-3-startrails The brilliant thing about this PS action is that the longest exposure you need to take is 30sec and so it virtually eliminates the noise problem of conventional long exposure startrails. You can imagine how much noise this shot would have as a 30min exposure. / The straight lines are some of 9 planes that flew through these exposures over the half-hour I was taking them – amazingly consistent flight paths. It got so busy I had to delete some of the planetrails, hence the little gaps in the startrails.
Here’s a macro shot of a dandelion seed with it’s reflection. I just really love dandelions and it’s shapes.

Inspired by the dreamy tune of Catch A Fall by 4 Strings. I had this song on repeat while I made this.

MARION CHAMPMAN is a wonderful artist and a lover of patterns and design.. Printmaking and experimenting with all kinds of materials and colors.. she really turns my head.. Marion… truth be told.. Kauai is not a very pastel-y place.. so I took my photo and gave it a Marion Wash.. I love this shot..I do not know what this is but I spent some time with this guy..It was a very tall tree and that is how the leaves grow on it.. no branches!! Marion’s Chapman’s Pastels inspired Maddy of Smudge ARt Fame to write a most lovely lovely piece.. My gratitude for the Love here is ever growing.. Thank YOu Maddy! What beauty is this I behold ? / “A feast to ones eye”, I am told. / Leaves wrapped in soft hues. / Colors of gold, red and spiritual blues. “A tree without branches ”, she did say. / Just leaves that enfold it in every way. / Lina sad, this tree amazed me so, / I could not look at it and just let it go. It inspired me until I returned home, / In my minds eye, this is the tone. / I know Creator left this for me to do, / So I painted it gold, red and spiritual blue.

Age 22. 2009. To some, the boy knew, it may have been a small departure from a lovable feline, but to him, Morris’ death was heartbreaking. There had been many times in the past where the boy had hurried home and hid away in his bedroom, hoping desperately to be forgotten by the world. He had wept in the isolated darkness, crying out his pain, yet Morris had always comforted him; lying there lovingly without judgmental eyes. Morris was always there offering his console by silently listening to every last word. With a tear in his eye the boy could remember what it felt like to cradle his arms around the little one, feeling his cushion-like fur on his skin. The boy knew he would one day be with him again, but for now, he could only hope he would see him in his dreams - Drawn on white bristol board. 2H, 3B pencil, biro pen, water colours and digital paint. FROM WIKIPEDIA / The Andromeda Galaxy is a spiral galaxy approximately 2.5 million light-years away4 in the constellation Andromeda. It is the nearest spiral galaxy to our own, the Milky Way. As it is visible as a faint smudge on a moonless night, it is one of the farthest objects visible to the naked eye, and can be seen even from urban areas with binoculars. It is named after the princess Andromeda in Greek mythology.
Here’s a dandelion shot which was taken last week,,,, not really sure if I totally like it so I thought I’d put it out there to see what you think.. Painting by Dorina Costras / 30/45 cm / Acrylic on Carson paper I work now at illustrations for a book of stories. / This work is part of this series.
She is regal, she is royal, she is every woman, she is you, she is me…she is strong in body mind and soul, she is timeless,...she is wise, she is free, this woman, “The Queen”... The Fourth in the series, her face is half turned to the viewer, looking away, conscious of her dignity, regal in her bearing, as if carved from the rarest wood... I have named you queen. / There are taller ones than you, taller. / There are purer ones than you, purer. / There are lovelier than you, lovelier. But you are the queen. When you go through the streets / no one recognizes you. / No one sees your crystal crown, no one looks / at the carpet of red gold / that you tread as you pass, / the nonexistent carpet. And when you appear / all the rivers sound / in my body, bells / shake the sky, / and a hymn fills the world. Only you and I, / only you and I, my love, / listen to it. / In my goal to portray women in all guises and emotions, here is the latetst addition to the collection..”The Temptation”....we all know what the feeling…temptation comes in many disguises…is she the temptress, or has she been tempted?make of her what you will… / When I was halfway through painting it, I remembered a picture I had seen in a magazine advertising lipstick….the model had her fingers on the open lips…. I thought they would be a perfect addititon to the painting, but I needed to see them again, just to be sure…. I frantically dug through my recycling bin (luckily we are having a garbage strike and everthing is still here) and found the picture…..the fingers were just what I needed…it was apparent that the picture had been buried in my subconscious, just waiting to emerge in this painting….I made the modifications to the image and here it is Acrylic and watercolour on Fabriano Paper.. When all things charm me I ignore / Which one alone brings most delight; / She shines before me like the dawn, / And she consoles me like the night.
