My new wolf friend seemed to like having his pictures taken – he stared “up close and personal” right into the lens. I believe it is only fitting to donate the proceeds of the sale of this image to a park that more than 200 wolves call home! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Algonquin Park
When I gave the title to this photo, I could just imagine Ted’s disbelief: “Oh, silly Terri,” he’d write, “It can’t be deep freeze. It must be late fall or early spring even though ALL weather channels say it’s early March and the average temp that day was -35˚c. They must ALL be wrong, wrong, wrong…!” :) :) :) This was taken the same day with the photo of “camp pathfinder” in Algonquin Park – my favorite wilderness park to date. :)

457X610mm / Acrylic on canvas Inspired by traditional Japanese art I decided to explore the elusive yet beautiful world of being a Geisha. / “Geisha” ( pronounced ‘Gay-sha’ ) means artist in Japanese. The ‘real’ Geisha was not a common prostitute, the first Geishas were men who entertained patrons through artistry. The Geisha evolved into being the role of a woman in Japan, holding the equivalent status to celebrities today for their time. / The different forms of art they performed were tea ceremonies, dancing, calligraphy, painting, music, not to mention they were and still are walking pieces of art. Hence, these amazing iconic figures have inspired paintings with a contemporary edge. / Nicole Whitty / WhittyARt BUY Whitty ARt products at: zazzle.com/whittyart*

Love This Moment is a poem I wrote in the middle of 2007, largely inspired by what I learnt by the life and death of one of my best friends, Greg, in March 2006. Namely, the importance of being happy now, and of being true to your heart and soul (and what it is you really want in your life). I then put it together with my photography into a slideshow (which you can view at www.lovethismoment.com) After getting a great response from the slideshow, my Mum mentioned she wished it was in a form she could hold in her hands, so I made some photo books for family and friends for Christmas 2007. After an even greater response, I looked at the photo book and thought, “I’d like to do this for real.” It reminded me I’d always wanted to be a writer. So in February 2008 I started looking into publishing. I decided to self-publish, and on December 16, 2008, after much learning and much effort, I received a shipment of 2,156 copies of Love This Moment…just 6 hours before my book launch! Now the real work has started as I look for distribution and other ways to get my book “out there”. It’s exciting!! / / I really believe in the message of Love This Moment. When I get out of balance, when I’m feeling sad or anxious because I’m caught in the past or worrying about the future, I read it and it reminds me what’s really important in life – those things I learned through the pain of Greg dieing and the gratitude I hold that he was part of my life and has given me so much. Just today I had a lady come into work, read Love This Moment and cry (in a good way!) It reminds me why I want to share it with everyone I can. If Love This Moment resonates with you, you can find it at www.lisafrost.com.au. The book also contains the story that inspired the poem, which for some is more inspiring than the poem itself. With love, / Lisa

A poem i wrote about a past life i am certain I lived: of this little girl in black braids, a vision, image, knowing i have had burned into my very being all of my life…
You are / the tip of my tongue / melody / that I have been searching for / since my body last forgot / the words / to my heart’s song. ...
Just me trying to describe my love; or rather, describe the remembering of a love, and how beautiful it is to re-experience it within each lifetime…:)
“Above all else, one must respect the prairie’s need / for more.” K.R The prairie’s child is born with veins, / of hollow gras…
This is my ode to my wind-born roots. I am a born and bred prairie girl, and wind has always been my element; my lover; my soul, so this poem is born of myself, and all that blows through me. it is a poem of a love of Freedom and open spaces.
If I could wrap you up in gauze / heating you from the inside / out – / sort the inconsequential lunacy / from the laughter / and sweet honey…
This is a pain about wishing to take another’s pain, if the Gods allowed it be so…and all I’d be willing to do, in exchange. A poem of giving and paying it forward. :)

When the editor of the website Soulpancake contacted me asking if they could feature my origami, I didn’t know what I would be getting into. I have to admit, I had never heard of the website before and wanted to do some research. The website was created by the actor Rainn Wilson. His name didn’t ring a bell to me right away and I continued my research. Later I realized Rainn Wilson was the one who played Dwight Schrute, the funniest character (in my opinion) in the American version of the television comedy “The Office” and I thought, “Oh my God!!” / / Well the website was just launched last March, when I was working in the UK, and immediately after that I was busy with school. My life as an architecture student kept me so busy that I get so out of sync with what’s going on in the world~ / / Anyhoo, I just realized yesterday they had already featured my origami on the site 3 days ago here. / / (The part where it said “she estimates she’s about halfway there”... I never said that… and I haven’t been keeping count so I have no clue where I am really.) / / / In other news, yesterday my Remembrance was featured in Beautiful / / / / Now I don’t generally post journals about features, but I’m just so pleased to see my newest work being so well-received! And I only joined the group two days ago and only submitted that work so far and they’ve featured it! Thanks so much to the hosts! Meanwhile, although this work is not necessarily the one that has received the most attention upon uploading, it looks like EVERY person who has left a comment has also favourited it :) Well atleast that’s how it started out; but there are also people who faved without leaving a comment so the numbers almost balance out =) / / Thanks so much!
