Captured in the Alluvial Fan area of Rocky Mountain National Park, needless to say I am glad my tripod weighs a ton as the wind was almost unbearable when I was shooting this. Those that know me well know that i was shattered when Craig’s hut burnt down in the 2006/2007 bush fires. I have loved “The Man from Snowy River” since i was a little girl and it had always been a dream of mine to one day see Craig’s hut in the flesh… then it was ravished by fire last year… well they have rebuilt it and thanks to our wonderful friend whom we stay with in Bonnie Doon, he took me and my family up there, knowing how much it would mean to me… I apologise now as i have about 70 odd photos from here and i am sure that a good number will end up on the Bub! This really was a dream come true, silly to some maybe, but for me a special moment i will never forget. I will be returning very soon as I have fallen in love with it up there…

Sometimes the sun has not been given enough time to go down in style. It is chased out of the sky, its light butchered by dark featureless and easy to forget clouds. Not this evening though. In such a wonderful setting and with all the time in the world, at its own pace, it gently covered the whole universe, material and the other one, with its pink warm residue leaving you with an overwhelming feeling of relief and joy. It is often hard to imagine a place like this for us city slickers, with the clock meaningless, space limitless, and your soul miles away from the tension and stress, the main culprits behind the structural damage of our emotional self. Later that night I was carried through sleep on a cushion of wonderful dreams until the sun made its usual roundtrip. Does this surprise you?

Virgin Snow

The forest was covered – everything had snow on it! (even us!) We went out to do a bit of exploring on Stinson Mt as the storm was still spitting snow. Taken in Rumney, NH in early January. We’re getting more snow today! We do need to watch out for falling snow…. lol! This As Is, untouched straight from the camera.

This is one of the many clearings found along the trails that deer love to travel through. We saw a herd of them but they disappeared before I could get a picture… It didn’t really matter – the view fun and the weather was beautiful! Taken looking down from one of the cliffs of Stinson Mountain in Rumney, NH, March 15th, 2009. As is, untouched straight from the camera.

Finally spring is here and the snow is melting… I took this a few weeks ago when the sun was blinding against the snow in my garden. There are still interesting things to photograph even though everything is dead…. Enjoy!

Snow Dragons
by maxyThese are what I often envision meeting up with every time we venture up to the ice caves. The Ice caves are a true scene from last year, untouched and I added in the snow dragons by using Incendia to create each of these to blend fantasy with reality.
