  • This chinese woman was from a small minority group in southern province of China. She lived in the village that has not changed for more than 500 years. Her laugh lines (one of my friend called it road maps) bear witness to the years she lived, she herself does not know how old she is. To her, it does not matter.

  • Even though the original 1937 Ford was a breakthrough design, with headlights streamlined into the fenders for the first time and the famed flathead V-8 giving ample performance by the standards of the day, initial sales were disappointing. Only later was it to become a favorite of generations of hot rodders and customizers. However, the first ones to tweak the ‘37 kept the bodywork bone-stock, because their livelihood depended on stealth and speed-–and room for a load of moonshine!

  • Eastern box turtle, yellow-gold coloration, closeup. Missouri / /

  • Also available without the old-paper border: / Also available as a T-Shirt:

  • Even God cannot change the past. Agathon (448–400 BC)

  • I love the lines and weathering on this old girl. It’s such an iconic symbol as well.

  • Another shot of this great old homestead. Though a little rough around the edges, : ) it sure holds a lot of beauty, doesn’t it?!

  • This was really a sight to behold, Prague is such a beautiful city. The red roof tops really jump out, don’t they? Thank you Maggie for the most excellent title ! / HDR image, then add’l post processing applied (dodge & burn, etc). Taken with the Nikon D50 and the Tokina 12-24mm f/4 lens. My art with 1000+ views

  • “The Darkness comes from within…” When I’m down it feels like this horrible darkness is seeping from my gut and engulfing me. It makes everything harder to deal with and it can even make it hard to see or concentrate on anything. I always wish that someone could help me in those times… One day I sat down and drew that feeling. Mixed media on acidfree paper + Photoshopped onto old paper I worked ‘til I was done.

  • Sorry i haven’t been around lately…have been quite unwell / for several weeks, I have had some tests done… / This is an image I have done for my friends birthday / on Monday of her two terrier dogs playing in the heather

  • Featured in ! #1 Artists of Redbubble ! – September 09 – Thank you so very much!!! I think I like this one better. But then I am a self-confessed colour addict and find it hard to give up my colour fix… Mila (2) looking sad, although she wasn’t, I promise.

  • The lady on the left was my grandmother Theadora and the others were her sisters— Ann (top right), Kate just below Ann and toward the center, Genevieve. I am not sure how or why such beauty can flower so robustly for so short and sweet a time, then go—where? This photo, taken in the long ago, is so old now no one is alive who remembers them the way they were. Kate lived the longest. Reached the grand old age of 104. Gen was close behind and died at 94. Dodo, as we called my grandma, passed away at 80. I did not know Ann because she died at 32. Who would have seen this, on the day they went to the studio to pose for the photographer? Why is it, there are only images on paper now, quickly fading figures glimpsed as though reflections in a half-seen window-pane? Or, as they believe in some quarters of the world, is some wisp of spirit caught in photographs, the way a tiny fossil is enshrined in limestone over geologic time? Maybe…. When I look at this, I feel certain beauty – much like energy – is really not destroyed but only changed; somewhere and some-when, whether in a dream, a memory or in another realm beyond imagining, beauty and the human spirit carry on.

  • I was driving through the countryside, when I spotted this old barn. I thought the sky had an interesting pattern or coloration, and would accent the barn nicly. Even though the barn has seen its better days, it is still being used by the farmer. The photo was taken in Page County, Virginia. I did apply a slight curves adjustment in Photoshop CS3 to enhance midtone exposure. This is my second attempt at textures. /

  • A lovely shop in Beuil, a picturesque old village in the Alpes-Maritimes.

  • (4×6 Mixed Media on playing card) I found this adorable old pic of a young boy which I glued to the card. Then I added the famous quote about what boys are made of,a baseball mitt sticker & the title(inspired by the classic John Lennon song) /
