I’m on vacation right now and Ferdinand is probably wondering where I am,each time I work I look for fresh fruits everywhere,his fav.peaches,pears and plums,sometimes I go downstairs at the cafeteria to beg for some….Everytimes he says «écoute la petite,what would you like me to buy for you ,tell me »and I say «nothing» ,he answers «They don’t have that in the stores»I t’s like a ritual …a few weeks ago ,her greatgrandaugther was hit by a drunk driver,20 years old,I though we where gonna loose him,Ferdinand was such in pain and sad,he didn’t want to eat or smile..Hopefully everybody went to talk to him very often ,he had more fruits… he told me last week that the girl was out of the coma and started to talk a little.Last month,I took his picture and told him that everybody said he was a handsome man.I explained to him that his portrait was all over the world…..«I didn’t even comb my hair » he said,it was funny.Mr Ferdinand is 95 years old ,he walks slowly and do everything by himself,never disturbing and always acting like a gentleman .A few women are after him but his wife died 6 months ago and he loved her so much ,I knew her ,a very funny lady.She was alzeimer.I hope he will be okay until I come back…Gigi Since I upload that pic,Ferdinand was told that he was gona die in a month or so due to his sick kidneys.Don’t ask me why the doctor told him I had never understood that part….He past away after 6 months of sufferring…thank you for taking the time

The thing i love about photography is it makes you think and when i saw this tree i saw how beautiful it was and wanted to get an image of it’s roots – roots that were strong and big and displayed their age with pride – but when i saw the image, with a person next to it, i saw how small we are not just in relation to it’s size but but it’s sheer nature and that’s the beauty of photography (for me anyway).

Yes I know what you’re all thinking…It’s ANOTHER PET DOG!!!!! Don’t panic you arty farty types…it’s only up for a limited time whilst I make some cards for a friends present. Then it will be strictly back to black polo necks and matching berets. Ciao baby. Postscript (Wow I literally just uplaoded this to make cards for a friends birthday. I had no idea people would comment on it! I feel compelled to point out – as those who know me understand – my humour is very dry and ironic. Don’t take anything I say seriously! Except for my Africa pics and this word – thanks…) :) I MIGHT ADD IF ANYONE WANTS TO BUY IT-GO ON, ON YA, YEAH NOW AND THAT!!!!!!!!!!!! COLLECT THE SET!!

La Rue Obscure is the oldest street in the old town of Villefranche sur Mer on the French Riviera, between Nice and Monaco. It was built on virgin soil at the beginning of the 13th century. La Rue Obscure formed the basis of the rest of the town’s construction on the slopes rising from this coastal lane. It gave inhabitants of the town certain refuge against possible attacks. The ship captains who were forced by storms to anchor in the bay, could make necessary repairs in safety. La Rue Obscure also welcomed precious merchandise, such as wine, in its cellars.

My apologies for having no originality in flower choice but as you can see, I love my plain old dandelions! Anyway, in this image there are 3 stages of flower from the same plant, the bud, the flower and the post-flower fairy which to me are like 3 generations. I chose the layers and treatment to reflect all 3 generations by being aged yet still bright and not faded. / Have sold 1 x laminated print.

[portrait taken in Natural Light] : 16/11/2008 [AS IS] I was walking from one village to the next, in Remote Nigeria. one of the team noticed this young girl following us for some time. I stopped and spoke to her through an interpretor. We learned that she was 13 years old and caring for three younger Sisters. As she told us here story, I Felt compelled to return to her village. There we met her three younger sisters in the most extreme poverty. Both Parents were dead and no other living relatives. We spoke to the village Chief and the elders who pleaded with us to help the family. We did, as God lead us to and blessed her with clothing, and the following day we sent two of our field workers to meet with her and now they have a small regular income from our mission funds. UPDATE 5-8-2009. Mary is now at School. We pay her school fees adn her three younger sisters are well and happy. We need help with Susan, aged 9. She wants to go to school also. We need help with school fees, uniform adn text books. Can you help? will you Help? / Media – pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolour pencils, photoshop / Substrate – paper The young lady is The Bird Whisperer, she holds a small injured bird in her gloved hands….. his wing is broken from a fall he suffered when attacked by a larger bird….as the little birds are considered prey…..but he will be okay now he is in the care of ‘The Bird Whisperer’......she is gentle and kind and knows how to heal the little bird’s wing so that he will fly again From the “Connections” Series of new pencil drawings that reveal the connection between ourselves, each other and nature, I hope you like, thank you for looking ;)
