Sydney is not only blessed by a beautiful coastline providing us with countless beaches, but also some of these beaches have a “rock pool” at the headland. These rock pools provide a great place for the locals to take a dip in the ocean without the waves. A precious find on an early morning outing in beautiful Inverie on the remote knoydart penisula on the west coast of the Scottish mainland. It’s a real wilderness area where wild flowers flourish in profusion on the lower slopes of this mountainous area without road access (We got the boat in from Mallaig). Morning dew in the sun transforms these delicate blue flowers which were growing outside a converted church and are possibly omphalodes, planted there rather than the forgetmenots I originally thought they were… ;) Cropped but otherwise untouched, and taken with my fujifilm finepix A500 on macro mode with a 4” tripod. I’m just so amazed and delighted that it’s true to what I had seen… and it’s well worth viewing larger I think too! / :)) / For more pics of this stunnnig area click this link: knoydart / Crespuscular my talented friend (check out his work too) found this so sad ballad/lament from the 70’s to sit alongside as a reminder of how priceless such mornings are…. PLEASE VIEW LARGE.. !! This was taken early in the morning as we arrived for our journey to the Elephant Seal area. Mists and light and Peace. Taken in the Año Nuevo SNR State Natural Reserve Northern California / ELEPHANT SEAL AFTERNOON I have used this form of morning meditation for quite some time and feel the ease of this practice and results in a more generous day with better focus. This is a meditation to begin the day. In a seated pose, focus on your breath. Cultivate a steady, relaxed breath. Then ask yourself: What is my intention today? After posing the question, rest your attention on the out-breath. This creates a spaciousness of attention on the in-breath. There is no direction for the in-breath. Do not get carried away by thinking, but also do no tightly control the attention. Continue to notice each out breath. Sit until you are struck by a clarity of intention. It comes not by chasing it down with thinking, but by stilling the mind and creating space. It may take a few minutes, or much longer. If no specific intention announces itself to you, simply commit to acting ethically and with mindfulness. That is certainly an intention that we can all practice each day. This meditation seems simple, and it is simple. It’s power lies in its ability to help us act intentionally throughout the day. If you practice this meditation each morning, you will find yourself more ‘awake’ behind the wheel of your life*.

/ Morning Light World English Bible / Yahweh make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. From the ‘Connection Series’, this is a pencil drawing, coloured with aquacolour crayons on paper… i have played around with this quite a bit in photoshop also, applying layers and more colour to enrich the overall look When i ponder this, it gives me a feeling of hope, like after the mourning, there is morning and the sun comes out again….. It’s all about our connection with nature and other lofty things :)

What can I say … Sometimes it all does come together perfect. I absolutely love how this turned out, hope you do as well. Image made with a Nikon D200 And Tokina 12-24mm lens. Slight touch of HDR post processing applied, converted to Sepia Tones in Adobe Digital Lightroom.

BEST VIEWED LARGER 85 Favouritings / Thank you for your views, comments and favouritings / Right Spot – CHECK / No Boats – CHECK / Enough Cloud – CHECK / That Consistency to the Water – CHECK / Lights in varying colours – Check / Reflections on Water – Check / Run for the D300 and the tripod – DEFINITELY Caught a range of shots on this Friday morning reached my vantage point about 5.30am. I saw these reflections and ran for the camera. Sydney Harbour like a mill pond before the many vessels start their morning trips and disturbing it’s surface. The other factor is that look to the water surface that landscape photographers might know it’s like a oily look to the water that lends itself to wonderful reflective surface. It took many shots of Sydney Harbour this morning, if, and you should have seen the sunrise that followed . WAIT ! yes i have photos of that as well.
