I have a series of calendars that I have produced for about 20 years. This is a possible image for the 08/09 edition. The style has always been to present beauty and sex appeal but with a real look. This shot was taken near my studio in Ivanhoe. The feel is meant to be of a nature photographer in the Amazon or some similar region. I am really passionate about running workshops pertaining to images such as these. I thought I might say a little bit about how we got these Ophelia shots. Missy is a VERY talented photographer friend of mine (to view her work, go http://missyjanek.deviantart.com/) and she has also modeled for me in the past. I thought she’d be great for this concept, so we started about 3pm yesterday. All was going well until she got in the pool and said “I don’t know how to swim!” So we struggled and propped her up with pool noodles and floaties and Adam even held her legs while she tried to stay afloat. I felt like she really was going to drown a couple of times! (We kept her in the shallow end, of course! and my dog was keeping watch as life guard.) For someone who had not really been in water before, I think she did a great job. :)

Sam is my best friend, and has helped me through rough times recently, couldn’t imagine my life without him, so this means alot to me, and i dont care what people initally think of this photo. jusge all you want!

A belated description. / This is an ode to unhealthy relationships. Not the ones where you have an argument every once in a while, or maybe lots of little ones all over the place, but otherwise everything is peachy keen. This is to the other kind, even or uneven, where one or the other has to protect themselves, in all kinds of ways. Do they stay and learn how to take it, or protect themselves better? Or do they lose everything except their freedom and fly away? I have placed the ‘fight’ bride in a small area that is cramped and hard to breathe, holding her dress and hair up as a barrier. Whereas our ‘flight’ bride has lots of space to move, is making herself free of the confines of the dress, taking down the barrier.
