My new wolf friend seemed to like having his pictures taken – he stared “up close and personal” right into the lens. The Gyoto Monks of Tibet are an often seen sight at many cultural events in the Byron Bay region. Seen here laughing, this particular monk escaped Tibet into India 50 years ago with His Holiness, The Dali Lama. His trademark expression and enjoying tea and biscuit, the joke is enjoyed by all at the table.

I shot this just a few moments before dawn off the Bundeena Cliffs at Royal NP just south of Sydney and a 15 minute walk from where I live. / This section of coast in Royal is just magnificent and I keep getting drawn back to it night and day – can’t imagine how many hours I’ve spent up here just sitting and gazing out to sea or taking pics. There are actually some hermit dwellings built into the side of the cliffs during the 1930’s Depression which are now derelict. I can fully understand why people built them. Wouldn’t mind setting up residence myself (but I love my running hot and cold water too much lol). / There’s actually two planes and a boat in this shot as well. / Tv: 1/6 sec / Av: f/ll / ISO: 100 / FL: 10mm / Canon 30D

My new wolf friend was determined to teach me how to howl after our shared lunch. He very “tenderly” took half of my sandwich from my offering hand with his mouth, lay it down on the ground and ate it layer by layer, slowly and savoringly, unlike my dog River, who would ALWAYS “wolf down” whatever is offered to her! :) So now he set out, just a few feet away, raised one front leg a tiny bit for emphasis and howled. I got down on all fours, copied the posture and did the same. Obviously he was a little dissatisfied with my learning so he repeated the whole thing another time. And this time he was happy with his pupil. What a patient teacher I had! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada

One Heart ~ Hamoa Beach Maui Hawai’i One of my favourite places to be in the morning or evening, on this lovely black sand beach beneath the Keawe trees….it is so beautiful and the sand is luxurious! “Was it the wind that whispered your name or did you call to me from the depths of my soul? As the wind descends from the heavens and cools me with its gentle touch, your love surrounds me, / flows through me, / having no end, / no seam between your heart and mine. / We are one heart and one soul. A backstage shot from my first attempt at event photography. The show was so dynamic and energetic that I wasn’t suprised to find the lead singer bent over catching his breath in the green room. I’m starting to appreciate candid photography more and more. There really is something special about capturing a moment that would otherwise be lost in time. There were many ducks in the little “live” stream that was surrounded by thick ice and deep snow and I caught three close-ups. Both males were looking towards the less colorful female and she was the only one who tried to look through the ice at her own reflection! So I thought perhaps narcissism does not only exist among mankind…. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.

The fawn looked as though she could not be more than a month old as her fur was all soft to touch and fluffy. She moved slowly and gently and looked into the lens, as if to say, “Hi, my name is Baby Fluffy”. :) I thought she was the cutest of all as she has long eye lashes and shinny tender eyes. And of course I’m pretty sure my “Baby Fluffy” would not mind if I donate the earning from her pretty face to save her environment. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada

The brother and sister recognized River from last fall and they both came to say “hello”. The “brand-new” fawn followed suit as her brother and sister seemed to know us and thought of us as “friends”. :) Before they circled my overjoyed dog and they all ran off together, they first make sure that they got their spring morning “family photo” taken. :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Algonquin Park

God’s display of HIS creation in all its splendor. I was fascinated by the effect that the direct sunlight had on the flower, bringing out the brilliance, texture, tones and the translucent nature of the petals! If you look closely, the yellow stalks of the stamens seem to be actually glowing in the sunlight!
