Salt flats near Swakopmund photographed from the air. What I find interesting is that as the water recedes the algae metabolise at a different rate that changes their colour. That is why it looks like there is blood on the landscape.

I have no idea what these unusual plants are, but they remind me of gigantic dandelions when they have gone to seed. My sons call them wild sunflowers. Those elongated green pods in the background are the same kind but haven’t bloomed yet.

Beautiful red roks in the Gorges du Cians in France. / It’s a picturesque old mountain road, actually unfrequented by cars . Thanks to another road with a tunnel we avoid this narrow and dangerous place. / My grandson, five years old is in the foreground.
