Here’s one I took today… I like it for it’s simplicity. This leaf also was placed on a mirror.
My other daughter for a change – this is Sarah – AKA InTheMaking For this shot – the title came first [one night in a dream]. So, it was scruffy jeans and trainers, and old tiles on the bottom half. For this I pulled back the carpet to expose the bare tiles underneath and placed some old plasterboard against the wall under the window. We made some tears in a pair of Sarah’s jeans and rubbed some dirt into her trainers. The top half needed to be glitz [items of costume jewellery and my wedding ring], jewels and a red carpet – the wine, well that is just cold tea . I used normal household lighting and just pointed the lampshade in her direction with a soft pearly bulb at 40W. I wanted mono [for rags] and colour [for riches] in the shot, which I achieved in photoshop post production, but not just straight forward selective colouring – it had to graduate in intensity from left to right to get it correct with the perspective I used for the shot. Hope you like it – Sarah will be watching your reponses with a keen eye no doubt.
FULL VIEW IS A MUST TO SEE THE DETAILING PRINT AVAILABLE!!! another version of “BLISSFUL.ABYSS.OF.THE.MUSE” I have made. http://www.redbubble.com/people/archann/art/447452-1-shefalika Both are very emotional pieces for me and close to my heart. / BLISSFUL.ABYSS.OF.THE.MUSE is a more subtle, intense, passionate, dark yet beautiful emotion which I tried to portray. Shefalika http://www.redbubble.com/people/archann/art/447452-1-shefalika is a more / more strong, energitic, vibrant yet beautiful emotion I have tried to portray. I think hope and feel, both the artworks connect!

An old 1930’s Mercedes Benz on exhibition at NGV (National Gallery of Victoria) in Melbourne. This car was a V8 had automatic transmission and went from 0 – 100kmph in only 16 seconds! haha how times change! Background desaturated in Photoshop and Gaussian Blur applied to background layer. I’d like to be able to say that when I was composing this shot I saw the plane taking off out of frame and worked out its trajectory would take it just over th e sun as it was rising, but I can’t :-(. Truth is I was so focussed on the rising sun I didn’t even notice the plane til I downloaded the shot and started working on it. So this is actually a tiny crop of the original landscape orientation I shot it in. One of those serendipitous moments you don’t even notice at the time. Taken from Bundeena Cliffs, Royal National Park just a few moments after Streaming to the Dawn. Another stumble upon going through the archives. Canon 30D / Tv: 1/15sec / Av: f/11 / ISO: 100

I recently treated myself to a set of Ashleys Photoshop Actions & I have to say that it’s the best money I’ve spent in a long time! / True, these Actions are all things I frequently try to do myself when doing a portrait, but using them has halved my workflow. / Perhaps I should learn to do my own actions…. / I’ve had a lot of fun playing with them this afternoon…...
